Wanna play a new game called QOTD?

QOTD stands for Q.uestion O.f t.he D.ay!

I'll try to pose a new question every day and you answer it! Biggrin Like Jackson says, it's easy peasy lemon squeezy.

Question #1:

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I always wanted to be a lawyer or a journalist.

Growing up, I always wanted to be a lawyer! Obviously it never happened. I thought I had a good argumentative approach Smile

Growing up I always wanted to be a heart surgeon. My uncle was the orthopedic doctor for the Chicago Bulls (he passed away from cancer) and we would always talk about me going to med school and becoming a doctor.

As you can see that didn't happen, but I would love to go back to school for nursing.

My friend's Mom was a nurse so that seemed like a good idea to me. My Mom thought I should be a Physical Therapist. Anything seemed better than what my parents did, namely teach at universities. So what did I do? I became a teacher.

I could never decide - it morphed over the years. First a doctor, then a lawyer, for a brief period a pop star (I was REALLY into Prince...), an urban planner... I still like all of the above, and probably could have made a go of the works... okay, okay, maybe not the pop star. lol

But throughout my life, the one consistent thing that I've always said that I wanted to do was write a book. So maybe this will be my final career path - an author?? We'll see... Wink

LOL, that is true!!! I am ONLY allowed to sing lullibies to the girls! If I try singing anything else, like the ABCs or just a song on the radio, they say "No thank you. No sing Mommy. NO NO NO NO NO NO NO" and shake their head no! The best is when the country song "Country girl sake it for me girl, shake it for me girl, etc..." comes on and I sing AND dance! They go NUTS over that one!!! LOL

I wanted to be a pediatrician. I was surprised how much I enjoyed the biology classes that I took in high school and college but disliked the physics and chemistry. I ended up working in biology research and hope when the time comes for me to go back to work that I can continue on the same career path!

My mom said I wanted to be a vet, so I said I wanted to be a vet… but it never really fit exactly right. I knew I wanted to be outside, though. So I’m in wildlife Biology. Not that far off.

But I’m in an office all the time and it’s killing me.

At one point when I was really little I wanted to be a stewardess. I don't really remember why, it may have just been because they gave me honey roasted peanuts on the airplane.

In 6th grade we had to write where we'd be in 10 yrs for our end of the year yearbook. My entry says that "I'll be a professional soccer player and a model in California." BWAHAHAHAHAHA!

In college I thought I'd go into journalism. I've worked in radio and newspaper but took the sales and then management approach finding that there was more money in that end (at least in my market.)

I've always wanted to do something to help others but not one specific field. There is a camp for children who have lost one or both parents and I'm hoping to volunteer there next year. I need to get on the ball and sign up, do what I need to do to get approved, etc.

I've always loved to write. It's been an outlet for me. I've gone between trying to decide whether to do something with my writing or not. I'm working on my 3rd book now and am considering self publishing. (although the first two were written 10+ yrs ago and I have no intention of doing anything with them)

Glad you asked? Wink

Julie, I used to want to be a stewartest also! But then I took my first flight in 6th grade and was SICK!!! Yeah, not something for someone who gets motion sick, even on a swing. LOL Then I decided I wanted to work for the airlines, so I could fly for free.
