What's your moonbeam getting for Christmas?

I'm partly scouting for ideas Biggrin

I got Luke two really cute board books. One is called Busy Bunnies, and the other one is Busy Doggies.

We also got him a Discovery Kids tent with a tunnel.

and that's it! I feel kinda guilty like we should get him more... yet on the other hand I really don't think he will care one way or the other. Maybe I will go to the dollar store and get some things for his stocking.

We got Avery a toy kitchen becuase she LOVES them everywhere... and I have a bit of an issue and LOVE shopping for her and with all the craptastic news lately I can't help it. We also got her the tag Junior from leap frog and a few books for that. Then smaller things like play d'oh, coloring etc... oh and a toy cash register lol

Like i said I have a slight problem with shopping this year although I have not spent much money

Fiona is getting a stuffed Dora doll and some matchbox cars. We aren't big spenders when it comes to Christmas gifts.

Carolyn, I think Luke will appreciate whatever he gets from you- he's in no position whatsoever to feel like he didn't get enough. And if you go small this year, you'll have every reason to do it again and again. Smile

Beni is getting a baby stroller (we actually got this for free with the purchase of), wooden dishes and food (we really wanted to get her a kitchen, but the only one we saw here was $100 PER PIECE- 3 pieces!), and a Leap Frog Fridge magnet thing- the farm animals one. She's loved those thing every time she's seen one, an spends hours in front of any fridge that has one. I'm proud of myself for waiting to give it to her at Christmas, instead of just because she loves them so much! Smile

I think that is it! I'm pretty sure she'll be getting the kitchen for her birthday, and then we'll have to figure out a way to get it back to Laos. Smile

I found that when my first was small we kept it super simple but now with having older ones we have to do more or they don't understand why the baby isn't getting gifts like they are. YKWIM? So I totally wouldn't feel bad about going small...

Daisy is getting a couple books, Little Tikes shopping cart (can't beleive we've made it this long without one!) some clothes, Leap Frog Birthday cake because she's just loves singing Happy Birthday and a pooh pllow pet I got with my Disney Movie rewards.

Another difficulty in shopping for her is having so many hand me down toys. We just don't need any more!

We don't go crazy at Christmas either, with a teenager who wants an Ipad or a $400 camera, we limit things to just a couple of gifts. Nico is getting a play guitar, a little hockey set with sticks & a net, a shopping cart & a tool bench. He will also get some clothes & PJs & little things in his stocking.

Mason is getting an electronic drum set (it was on clearance at toy r us). Right up his alley.

He's also getting a plush angry bird because the other kids are.

I've got a book for him too. So far that's it. I think I'll get him a pack of wooden kitchen spoons because he LOVES playing with mine. The perk is that when he's no longer interested in them I can have them - bonus!!

Other than that I'll re-gift a couple of the older kids toys from when they were little so the other kids know that santa didn't forget Mason Smile

We don't go crazy either. We have a budget for $100 each child, and get whatever we can within that. We hit up the Black Friday Toy's R Us sale and managed to get some good stuff in that budget!

Lucas is a little engineer and loves to figure stuff out and loves pretend play. But I also wanted to get him toys that would be good for language and vocab building. I bought him a little kitchen set that has a bunch of dinnerware (and I can always buy more accessories later) as well as a 120 piece set of fake food. I think he's going to LOVE it, and it'll provide so many language opportunities! I also got him a little Doctor's Kit- same thing, great for learning body parts! I also got him a life sized cat that purrs and rolls around. He loves the animals, but is sometimes a little rough- hopefully he can take it out on this cat instead while we reinforce being gentle! Wink I also got him a toy that makes a bunch of different sounds that you hide and they find it (it's got a timer), which is great for helping to localize. I think that's mostly it, there's probably a few small things in there that I'm forgetting. I'm excited for Christmas this year! Noah is SO excited for it, and totally understands, and I think Lucas is going to be pretty into this year too! I think he's going to love all his gifts, despite my motive behind most of them! Wink

I will wrap up some playdoh and some fingerpaint for him. Their playroom is getting turned into an art room for Christmas so we figured we would keep most everything on theme with that.

Eve is getting some Hello Kitty plushes on our plane rides. She already got a couple cute books and some Hello Kitty clothes from her grandparents over here. I also bought her a straw cup that a friend personalized with some vinyl and her Cricut (it has her name and Hello Kitty, along with flowers on it). She's head over heels in love with Hello Kitty, can you tell Lol The boys are getting cars, a couple Kung Zhu Zhu Zhu pets and some tracks. I forgot to ask DH how he wants to give them the tracks, because I certainly don't want to carry them with us for them to open and then lug back. We're trying to keep it small, since we'll just have to bring it all back later.

Keaton's main gift is an electric ride on car. It's a Cars one and we got it for $45 at WalMart. Other than that, he's getting a couple of books, a Cookie Monster toy that Liam picked out and some clothes. Oh and a bouncy toy he sits on that I won Smile We have all the boys write down the 5 things they want the most. Santa brings one and then what we don't get we pass on as ideas for the grandparents. They are really good about not asking for too much or something too expensive. It gets harder as they get older though. This year, Connor wants a Kindle. We told him that if that's what he really wants, that there won't be much else and he was fine with that. It's funny because I asked all of them what they want the very most and Liam said an angry bird that makes sounds ($9), Landon a game for the xbox ($25), & Noah a Toy Story truck ($25). Wish it would stay that simple! I'm most excited about giving them a zip line I won a couple of months ago! It's 150 feet long and is for adults too Smile It will definitely make for a fun Christmas afternoon!

Are you going to get him a fancy new Kindle? Cause the basic Kindle (that you can basically just read on) is only like $70. The one that is more of a tablet, that you can play games on and surf the net on and watch movies on is expensive. That said, I got the original Kindle in 2008, and it cost $360! Can you imagine! ALL it did was hold books! Smile Oh how quickly things change!

I had this same discussion with my mom, because apparently one of my step-nieces asked for a Kindle for Christmas... and I explained to my mom the differences, and said she probably doesn't want it so much to READ on, as to play games, etc. Mom got it pretty quick, but they decided they are going to stick to using the library anyway. Smile

I got a $50 voucher from ecomom for $15 so I used that to buy-
*A shapes puzzle
*A musical instruments puzzle that makes sound
*A wooden stacking toy
*A Sprig dump truck
(I also got a Nova Nature natural rubber seahorse but that's for the new LO :D)

I also bought a Little People animals toy back in July when Target was having their Christmas in July sale. It's been hard to hold on to but I did it!

I also bought Jordan five Sandra Boynton books from TJ Maxx. Two of them were only $2 and the rest were $3.99.

I ended up with more than I had planned but I feel like I some great deals.

I bought Jordan a little stroller a while back b/c she loved her cousin's so much. She plays with it a lot! I loved playing with babies when I was little but I didn't even buy Jordan her first doll. Her Nana (Jason's mom) did and she has always loved it. She has two now and she plays with both of them. Many times they are both in the stroller. Biggrin

Jordan also got the farm animals fridge toy from her cousin and she plays with it all the time. It's another very popular toy around here!

We're getting him the basic one. We explained to him that it is really just for reading books and he said that's what he wants. He loves to read and the libraries here now let you check out books for your kindle so I think he'll like it. I am getting DH the new kindle fire for Christmas. I signed up for the Amazon visa and got a $50 credit so it was $150 (no tax). He saw it on tv and said how neat it looked but he'd never spend the $ to get it for himself. It seems to be getting really good reviews. Beats $400 for an ipad! Hard to believe how much cheaper the kindles are now!

Topher is getting a toy vacuum, a Laurie Berkner CD, a bathrobe (he loves bathrobes), a flashlight, and sleeping bag (he and DS1 like to play "camping").

I got Dh got a Kindle Fire for his birthday and he loves it. He mostly reads books on it, but he wanted the colored Fire, rather than the basic kindle because he can read comic books on it and he can get kids books for the boys on it. Amazon Prime has a lot of apps and books they offer for free too. We've gotten several kids books for free for Nathan.
