Doc said I need an u/s next week when I go in for my appointment. Didn't have an u/s with either of my others this late in the game. Is this normal now? Anyone else having one? Assuming it's to check fluid levels etc. Wasn't thinking straight when she told me so didn't think to ask... just curious. Of course always happy to peak at the little miss!

I am having another one tomorrow with the high risk doctor. Because of the diabetes they wanted a growth scan and then because of the antibody they want an MCA and because I am dilating they wanted a cervix length check. Not complicated at all
Some offices due growth scans in the 3rd tri normally now to see what they are working with, but they can be off by 2lbs so take what they say with a grain (or heap) of salt.
I've had 3rd tri ultrasounds with this pregnancy and my last one, but it was because of issues with blood pressure (high blood pressure can lead to growth restriction and really small babies), and in my last pregnancy, I also ended up with low fluid, so several times they checked fluid level. In my first pregnancy, I didn't have any health issues, and never had 3rd tri u/s.
