Acid Reflux :(

TMI..

Last night was one of the worst nights to date with Acid Reflux. I remember being woken up sometime in the middle of the night vomitting back up dinner with this crazy burn.. and it wasn't just a little drizzle of acid reflux but a mouth full.. I had no choice but to swallow it back because I couldn't get out of bed.. plus it was just a natural reaction.

I'm gonna head up to Walgreens to grab some Zantac, I think. I can't do that again.. I'm sitting straight up and it's burning like NUTS.. Something has to give. Sad

Anyone else struggling with this crap?

I had really bad heartburn BEFORE I got pregnant. The beginning of pregnancy wasn't that bad - but then nothing I ate was staying down. The last few weeks I have gone through quite a lot of Tums. I was on a prescription for 300mg Zantac too, so ...when I don't have a 'script for it, I take two of the Zantac 150's. They take awhile to take effect though, the 'script does better. I know you're like..anti-medication (which, I totally understand, but..I'm so not in that boat) so you can try apple cider vinegar.. I know it sounds silly, but my mom (and others) swear by it! Just a teaspoon and that's IF you can keep it down, it tastes horrid. You can also try milk. Some people have issues with milk and it just makes the problem worse, but milk has helped me out many a night when I'm crying because it hurts so bad. I just sip it, but I make sure to get a big glass of it. Also, those nights when you wake up with straight acid in your throat - I usually cram some type of bread down my throat. It seems to help it immediately (not the reflux, but my throat burning).

Prilosec was really really good for me, but it takes DAYS and if you miss a dose you gotta basically start all over. And it's expensive, you can get generic 150 Zantac at Walmart for 4.00. Erm..not that I know exactly where it is and how much.

Oh - and just so you know, like I said I've had issues with indigestion/heartburn for a LONG TIME. So, I've been on Zantac the ENTIRE time I've been pregnant and at a higher dose than most, so.... GO GET IT. It will help!

ROFL Jess, I heart you so! Lol

Walgreen had it on sale for 18 bucks for a 65ct bottle.. I went and picked one up. Plus some stool softener. Plus some toys that were on CRAZY amazing clearance!!! Like down to $1.50 type clearance!!! I'll have to get them out of the truck and take a pic.. I was impressed with what I got for what price!

Zantac 150 pill = taken. We'll see how long it takes to kick in. Lol

No heartburn here, thankfully but I did have some in the beginning and I couldn't drink OJ. Hope the Zantac has helped!

Can't wait to see pics Smile
