Fundal height

I can already feel my fundus above my pubic bone...supposedly that normally happens around 10-12 weeks depending on whether it is a first or subsequent pregnancy. This is my second, but 7 weeks still seems waaaay early. I had DH feel too and he agrees it is a uterus we feel. So, either my muscles suck way worse than I realized after my last preg, I'm further than I think I am (but I temped and think I have the dates pretty accurate), or it's twins. My brothers-in-law are twins. I would freeeeak the h out if it was twins. I don't even want to imagine caring for a two year old and TWO newborns. I would die I think. I'm just now beginning to recover from DD's newborn/early infancy.

Anyone else able to feel their fundus already? Any other explanations for this?

I wouldn't even know what I was feeling for  and may have too much fat there to really feel anything anyway... when do you go to your OB?

OMG Callie, I've been saying that I feel mine already too, lol. I'm wondering if it really is just way easier to feel it in later pregnancies? And you know what you're feeling for more now? I can't imagine 4 under 4, LMAO.

My appointment is Oct 2...1 w, 2 days away. I don't know if theyll do an US or not though. By my calculations I'll be 8w, 4 d along. Also, I had no nausea last time and do everyday for much of the day this time. Mary, maybe our muscles suck...I'm going with that for now! I know I'm a rockin mommy so I'd figure it out and do a good job, but holy smokes twins would scare me soooo bad.

The Fundal height is where your uterus is and the further along the more they measure it to know how far along you are.

Hahaha... I'm refusing to acknowledge that the fact that I can feel mine could mean more than one bean in there. I'm sticking with my theory that after two kids, my abdominal muscles are just stretched out of whack and that has to affect it somehow.

Good luck to you! I've love to have some twins on the board, just because those pregnancies are always fun to follow, but I'm not necessarily wishing it upon myself, hahaha. I've already got one foot in the loony bin.

With my first preg I was trying to feel it and thought I wouldn't know when I did, but then, when it was high enough to feel there was no mistaking it....when you press on your abdomen, right above your pubic bone, you feel a firm, kinda bouncy (like a stress ball that you squeeze) thing. At first I thought it was my bladder, but it is the same right after I empty my bladder and pushing on it doesn't make me have the urge to go.

I'm freaking out less today. I guess the initial thought scared me, but I think it's unlikely. One week until my appt and I'll know for sure.
