I had my appointment yesterday. Baby looked good! We had the u/s tech seal the gender pic in an envelope for us to open on Christmas day. I was scared that she couldn't see it, because it took her FOREVER. I've been through this a couple times, and they just plop it up on the screen and there's the junk. This time, baby was faced down and away from us (made it hard to get any face pics too). So she had to try to get all up under the baby on both sides of my belly. And of course DH and I weren't looking, so it felt like it took even longer. But she got it. Woohoo! I put it in a pretty, glittery red box. It's sitting up on my mantle so the kids can't mess with it, and it's torturing me! I'm dying to know. Last night, I had a gender dream (girl), but I only have a 50% success rate with my dreams so far, so I don't put too much into that, hahaha.
The appointment itself was "meh".. My blood pressure was 150/100. Ugh. WTF? I hate it because it's NOT that high when I check it at home. So anyway, he put me on labetalol. I started it last night, and it will take some getting used to, I guess. It's giving me a pretty nasty, unusual headache. I'm on the lowest dose, just hope to keep it that way. I'd rather not take anything at all, but I guess that BP was a bit out of control. I'm mostly nervous because I swear it's like 110's/70's most of the time at home (I get the occasional high reading, but only like 130's/upper 80's... Not high enough to really justify treating with meds). So I am afraid it's going to take it too low. I guess I'll just keep an even closer eye on it now.
After the appointment, the doc called me back to tell me that he forgot I needed a blood draw for the quad screen (to check for downs syndrome). He wanted me to come back into the office, but I was already at work for the night, so I had to go BACK in this morning for a blood draw.
Face with BIG arm going across the chest (ready to fight with big brothers).
(Head and spine... I always LOVE seeing the spine. Something about it makes it feel so real).
(THE box. Can't wait to open it. By far my favorite Christmas gift already, lol).
