Hospital gown

I heard on the radio it's getting a makeover and that a hospital in Detroit is already using it! Supposed to be more like a robe with snaps instead of the strings. I hope my hospital uses it by the time I'm there.. but probably not haha!!

Did you use the gown at the hospital for all of your stay or change into your own clothes? I'm bringing a robe/gown set with me.. bc I feel so naked with just the hospital gown LOL But I will probably get into my own clothes as soon as I can shower!

With DS1, I pretty much stayed in the hospital gown the whole time, with nursing bra and underwear underneath. With DS2, I took a pair of comfy pants, some nursing tanks, and a fleece to wear. I was much more comfortable that way, but I was much more comfortable in general after DS2, because my vag didn't shred into pieces, lol....

I'm such a heathen, I didn't use a gown. Lol I had on the oh so comfy undies and blankets. No point when you're nursing every hour or two and fighting with it bunching up under your butt which, in turn, ends up choking you due to the side/shoulder buttons.

With me having a c-section, I am trying to think of what I wore back then with DS and I remember wearing some sweats and a tank.. so I may take that too.. and I'll be taking some baggy khaki capris to go home in also. I read that people suggested a dress but I don't really have any summery dresses.. mine are more formal haha. At least my maternity ones and I know I'll still need maternity clothes to go home in. What did you all wear home from the hospital?

We didn't get to settled into our room until around 1 am last time so I just stayed in my hospital gown until the next day...I think I showered mid- morning and then wore my own clothes: pajama pants with tank or tshirt and nursing bra. By that time i wasnt getting the "massages" any more and not being checked very often. Until they stop checking the bleeding and stop "massaging" it wouldnt be worth messing with clothing since you'd basically have to undress every time....unless you took a nightgown, I suppose. I went home in blue jeans and a plain black tshirt...

I might not wear a hospital gown at all! lol. Just and nursing top. I don't care who sees what. I just hate all that fabric getting in the way.
I like wearing yoga pants and a nursing tank home. If it's nice I might wear a dress. I looked about 6 months pregnant with DS2 after I had him so I know I can't wear pre pregnancy clothes.

I put the gown on and then promptly took it off and put my clothes back on when the midwife said I could. Smile I wore an XL t-shirt and undies during labor. I didn't have any undies on at all when they wheeled me into the recovery room! I really could have cared less at that point.
I really hate the hospital gowns. Even the new ones still sound uncomfy.

Anything loose and comfy. Soft fabrics, just like plain cotton or something. Callie - :udawoman: for wearing jeans home.. I can't fathom the thought of denim against my skin at all after birth.

I'm going to wear a cheap old stretchy skirt I have and an old t-shirt over a bikini top for the birth. I have serious hospital anxiety, so anything I can do to forget I'm in a hospital the better. I brought yoga pants and nursing tops/t-shirts for afterwards and for going home.
