Default I don't know what is real anymore

So I told my doctor I was worried I wouldn't know if I was in "real" labor after all these episodes of preterm labor. She assured me I would know. Yesterday I had mild cramps/contractions sporadically. Today, they started out that way and now I am not sure what to think. Sometimes they feel like real contractions that are slightly painful, sometimes my whole belly gets hard and it feels more like a cramp, and then sometimes all I feel is radiating pain going through my back. I am so uncomfortable, but then again it doesn't feel like real labor. I just knew with DS and could time them, but I don't feel like that this time. Either way, something is going on. Oh and I have had bowel movements 7 times since yesterday morning. I wish someone could feel what I feel and tell me what they think, lol.

Ugh, that has to be frustrating. Everything I've ever read/been told is that if it's the real deal, they'll get longer/stronger/more frequent. If they don't, then it's probably not the real deal. That said, I've been induced with my others, so I have no experience with going into labor on my own.

It sounds like your body is doing something, hopefully it will get more clear as to what exactly it is doing.

I could have written your post word for word.
Been having contrax on and off all weekend, some worse than others and just general not feeling good, but no idea if it's real or not. Going to the doc tomorrow so we'll see what she says...

Bust out a watch, mama! Mary is right - they get longer and stronger with less time in between. I was always told if you can't talk through them, it's time to call the Dr.

Oh yeah Yaeli. Let me know what the dr says. If this keeps up tomorrow I might just call and see if they want me to come in. I am hurting pretty bad now. I will have a strong contraction then it feels like radiating back pain. It either needs to progress or go away lol

I have a contraction app but what I consider "real" contractions are pretty far apart. Like one an hour. Then I have other mild contractions but they last less than 30 seconds and then I have back pain. I am only timing the hard contractions at this time but I am so confused.

My contractions with dd sound like what your having. The hard ones I felt we're stronger on the monitor but the back pain also showed up. I had bad back labor with her and it was terrible. I hope u get relief soon either they let up or she makes her appearance

I feel the same way. Sometimes I have AF-like cramps and sometimes I have tightening without pain (BH contrax I assume), sometimes I have tightening with some pain, and sometimes I have pain that radiates thru my lower back. Nothing thats consistent or even timeable. Boo. I ready for my baby to be here.

I'm right there with ya... I have been having contractions every 10-15 minutes apart for about a week now.. some of them are so strong they bring tears to my eyes, hips HURT like no other and my back...ugh. But whenever I've had REAL labor they do get longer, stronger and closer. I think that all these contractions are HOPEFULLY helping bring him down, and help dilate. we'll see I go to the dr tomorrow too
