January, 2013 ~ Chat Thread

Sooooo.. what do you ladies think about a monthly chat thread? See if we can't "general chatterbox" it up around here! Lol

What did everyone do for New Years?? Smile

DH and I and DD make homemade pizzas! Lol I think the Turkey-roni got me though.. Oh the indigestion! And it wasn't even on MY pizza!! But I did sneak some off DD's. They were minis and I couldn't help myself. :biglaugh:

Let's do it. Maybe I can get my crowns this year, yey!! Lol.

We had a bonfire outside with my in laws. We roasted marshmallows and made s'mores, roasted hot dogs (IDK that anyone ate one they just roasted the heck out of them LOL) and I made hot chocolate for everyone. It was a good time.. then we went inside and went home about 10:30. But I did stay up til midnight, probably went to bed about 1!

Adriana, I'm sorry about the indigestion.. I hate it.. it sucks! I usually get it with tomato-ey stuff.. not spicy though which I am so glad!

MIL came here (DH gave me a whole 30 minute notice that plans had changed and she was coming here, so I had 30 minutes to get dinner cooking AND make the living room and bathroom look acceptable) and we ate dinner and played Monopoly. She left around 9 and we were in bed by 915. (We go to bed between 8 and 9 every night - I have to get up at 330 and he gets up around 5, so we both knew the midnight thing was a lost cause.)

I was in bed by 10.30 on NYE. Just could not keep my eyes open. We had nothing big planned anyway, so I wasn't missing out on a big party or anything. I figure the new year was going to ring in without me watching the ball drop but I wouldn't be able to get out of bed the next morning if I stayed up Smile

Sorry you're suffering with the heartburn Adriana. I got it really bad with my last pregnancies but (knock on wood!!) have gone there yet this time! On;y thing that gives me heartburn is pineapple but I get that when I'm not preggo too so doesn't count!

I'm super excited for our big u/s Friday!!! I'm pretty sure it's a boy, but something deep down in me is telling me that maybe because the preg is significantly different form my boys, maybe it's a girl Smile Will be thrilled with a healthy baby of course, but wouldn't mind balancing the pink with the blue in this house - I'll be seriously outnumbered with 3 boys! LOL Smile Guess we'll find out soon enough and then the impossible task of name picking begins...

Christine, yikes.. I hate that! I often don't watch scary movies or anything late at night for the reason.

Yaeli, hoping for pink for you to add to the mix Smile Either way I know you will be thrilled! I too have always had a feeling I'm having a boy Biggrin

Jessica, it does feel gross lol But guess what? After I got a panty liner it's like it disappeared.

Hate the discharge! With DS1 it was really bad, DS2 not so much and alittle bit this pregnancy. I have noticed it depends on your activity level, everytime I have high activity it's worse

Yaeli- I think I am having another boy too! lol... there might be a few of us on here with 3 boys. Yikes!

You two are silly. LOL

Today was the first day back to school. I couldn't have asked for any better. DH is working his bosses shifts this week so he is working 12-13 hours a day. So I am in charge of getting Jack up and dressed and to and from daycare as well as working and cooking dinner, etc. But Jack was soooo good this morning. Usually he screams bloody murder having to get up, but he barely fussed at all. And my whole class was so good as well. We got so much done today and they even seemed to understand counting on, which is a tough concept to learn.

And PS, my middle name is Elizabeth Smile

I love the name Elizabeth Smile I would use it for a girls name if my sister in laws middle name wasn't Elizabeth.. lol Not that I don't like her bc I do but.. yeah.

Maybe we should move our belly dancing talk over here HEHE

LOL - I just read and caught up on this whole thread.

As for discharge, I have it EVERY DAY. Daily panty liners. Fun stuff. Today, I ran out of panty liners in the downstairs bathroom and was too lazy to go upstairs to our master bathroom where I have like 2 more huge boxes. So I wore a pad instead, because wearing a pad is better than wearing nothing at all. Blah! I never thought I'd say it, but bring on the endless dry vag that comes with breast-feeding. LOL.

And my middle name is Ann. Hahaha.

Honestly, I don't know lol I hated my name growing up but once I got in High School, I liked it. I like it now. I don't even know what other name would fit me. I do know that my mother wanted to name me Nataly though.. spelled just like that too.

My middle name is Elan! I don't think I'd want to change my name, though I do get annoyed when so many people call me Laura cause I don't like common names at all.

Good to see you back on the boards Lara!

Somehow I missed this thread but I'll jump in too. Funny that you are taking about middle names because my middle name used to be Jo. But I was adopted by my step mom and she didnt like it because my bio moms middle name was Jo so she changed it to Irene which is her Grandmothers first name. I like my middle name but wished it hadn't been switched. So I named my DS1 Thomas Joseph(for Joe, but more formal) so I call him Tommy Joe sometimes.

LOL Adriana - You might have more posts than anyone!! LMAO. I have a lot, but nowhere close to you!

I'm not sure what I'd change my name to. I never loved my name growing up. I always felt like "Mary Ann" was sooooo plain-jane. I'd go for something more exotic, but I'm not sure what, haha.

ya I am supossed to be working too but instead I am looking online for new baby things. Can't concentrate since so many exciting things happened this week. Getting to see baby was one of them. Went to a speech evaluation for DS1 because he has been struggling with learning to talk and the school said he is now at the developmental speech level so they denied him any speech therapy which is a huge milestone for him!! yay!
Then today me and DH are going to court because my DS1's bio father is giving up his rights in court today so my DH can adopt him. Kinda a bittersweet day. Hope I don't cry.

Thanks Ladies!
All went well. He gave up his rights like it was nothing. Kinda sad for him but a big step for us. Just seeing him today and not saying a word to us made me realize even more we are doing the right thing for our DS. We just have 2 more steps to take to finalize the adoption and it should be done by April so DH will be having to kids this year! LOL

Yep! Just like you, this has been going on for awhile so it's nothing new. These men never go away quick enough. Good thing is now we never have to see or talk to him again. I asked DS1 last night if he remembers him and he didn't know! I told him that daddy was adopting him and tried to explain it to him but he doesn't understand because he says he's already his daddy, lol. I met DH when he was only 22 months so that's all he really knows.

Aweee! God love him!! :love10:

When DD and I were looking at her baby books a couple months back she saw a pic of him holding her and couldn't for the life of her figure out who it was. I told her if she didn't know, it was ok.. not a big deal.. smiled and closed the book. I started walking back to put it back away and I hear this.. "Ohhhhhhhh HIM!?!?!?!?!

I love that she knows him as ohhh him! I've tried to get rid of pictures but I'm sure one or two will pop up but we will deal with that when it happens.
