low abdominal cramping

This afternoon I have been having some sharp cramping very, very low...almost like it is my cervix cramping. No mid or upper abdominal cramping or feelings of tightness in my uterus. It only lasts 3-5 seconds, but occurs as often as every few minutes. Nothing for about 15 min now. I have been downing the water since this started - just finished my 3rd 24 oz cup. I'm at work so there isn't anywhere to lay down, but I'm trying to stay in my office and keep still.

I'm waiting to see what happens next to decide if I should call the OB...

Is it painful? Hopefully that water has helped.

Maybe ligaments stretching/uterus expanding. If it it's really painful I would definitely call and ask about it. Hope all is ok!

If it makes you feel better, mama, call the Dr's office!!! Some reassurance that everything is ok and normal is always good medicine.. Hopefully the water helped and you're resting comfortably right now. :bigarmhug:

I'm feeling much better, but still haven't had the chance for rest yet...just got the little one to bed. The gallons of water must have done the trick. It was definitely not stretchy/growy pains...it had a definite waxing and waning quality, like a menstrual cramp. Anyway, they seem to be gone so I'm feeling good about that. ...now back to dishes, and packing lunches, and finishing the work I didn't finish at work (but I can do that in bed with my lap top)....
