Google search says both that they can be safe and they can be dangerous....just like with drug/herb/food during pregnancy. I've heard that the saline based enemas are safe and sometimes prescribed to preggos in this kind of emergency. My friend was prescribed one during her pregnancy. But of course I'd ask a doctor or midwife.
glad you are feel better! How'd t go today??
Oh I know. I'm a pharmacist, so don't think I didn't do my research on the risks, lol. But it was either do that or go to the hospital and have some doctor fish it out manually. Yeeeaaah... I figured the benefit outweighed the slim risk. ;)
Thanks Maddie! Today has been better, except I'm refusing to take the zofran and I was really nauseated and not doing well in that department at work today. :(

My midwife suggested an enema to get labour going when I was overdue with my last pregnancy. I was too grossed out by the idea to try it, plus I went into labour and had the baby later on that day anyways.
My mom told me that back in the day when she had me, they told women to do enemas before they went in to the hospital to give birth so they wouldn't poo on the table. Isn't that insane?
