Poop

No literally, poop.

Today was the absolute WORST in the pooing department.. I literally felt like I was giving birth out my bum!!

What are you all doing to keep the rock-hard nuggets at bay? I've upped my Colace to 2x/day.. which is only helping with the "second half" of the log.. the first part is giving concrete a run for it's money.

Talk to me.. I'm soooooooooo flipping sore. Sad

OMG. While your post made me laugh, I was sitting there nodding the whole time. I totally TOTALLY have poop issues EVERY SINGLE TIME I poo. They are SO hard and the first part will make it through and the last part just stays in there and hurts. I had a... um...nevermind.

So anyway, what I've found is this - I keep meaning to buy a stool softener, but keep forgetting.. but I've noticed if I poop MORE, then it's not as hard - like it doesn't have time to sit around in there and get hard I guess. So, I'll eat something everyday that makes me poo (when I'm not pregnant) like.. icecream or...a blueberry muffin (I dunno, don't ask). But that way, I keep pooping and it doesn't hurt as bad. I know how miserable that is. (((HUGS)))

Haha.. you crack me up, your wording but I am so sorry about the troubles! Thankfully I haven't had problems with this.. I mean sometimes it's hard to go but I'll go eventually that day and it has been ok so far. I wish I could help but I'm really no help here. Have you been eating plenty of veggies?

I'm all about natural fixes...have you tried adding more fiber to your diet? Prunes and prune juice help too. Apple juice and apple sauce also!

On our holiday I was worried I wasn't pooping enough but let's just say that stomach flu cleared me out good! BA HA HA! Now I'm worried about going in the other direction! They gave me Zofran at the hospital and a prescription for 10 days of it. I only took it long enough to get home (2.5 days) as I'm worried about the constipation issue! It has been touch and go with that this whole pregnancy, I don't need any help! So ya, everything was empty Saturday...I started eating again Sunday...still nothing coming out and it's mid-day Wednesday. I'm so scared.

I just ate some prunes....wish me luck. Blum 3

Ugg, I feel ya girl, your post makes me laugh though, you're so open about it!!
I'm on iron which makes it worse and I haven't been taking stool softeners. I usually go a lot but it's always really dark colored and uncomfy.
Heather, other than apple juice, what else works? I'm not huge on prunes. Smile

I'm not a prune person and choose not have apple juice b/c of the sugar content.. Sad Plus, AJ kinda has the OPPOSITE effect on me.. It makes it all "righty tighty" instead of "lefty loosy" :annoyed:

I wish I could poo at least once a day!! That would help.. but it's only about once every 3-4. Sad

Ugh... Glad to give you guys a laugh, though! Lol

*Lurker*

When I was pregnant with my son, the prenatal vitamins that were given to me stopped me up so bad, so I bought the gummy ones. That worked great. I also had to take Miralax some which sucked because I got horrible cramps from it, so I either was stopped up in pain on the toilet or bent over (as much as I could) in pain.

For me, eating oatmeal and broccoli helped...thankfully I craved broccoli and cheese during pregnancy! I think I was pooping about once a week and was miserable when it turned to rocks. Ugh how I wish men could experience this.

Hope you figure something out that helps you!

LOLOLOL. Love this thread. I'm not having these issues lately. But I've dealt with a lifetime of poop issues. My go to's are lots of fruit and raw veggies in my diet, no carbs, no cheese, no bananas (only fruit that stops you up), eat a crap ton of raisin bran and drink prune juice. Colace works too, just takes awhile. I don't think you can drink this in pregnancy, but Smooth Move tea is the bomb.

This thread cracks me up but I think it's b/c I was laughing so hard at the first post Adriana! Biggrin I have no good advice. I always think this is a natural side-effect of pregnancy in order to prepare you for pushing out the baby at birth. Wink

Also wanted to say that raisin bran sounds so good. I would love a bowl right now!
