    Question Poop!

Ok, mamas. Lucas' poop is green. I've been googling and read the fore/hind milk imbalance thing. He's 5 days old today. I'm a worry wart and I'm trying to get him to nurse longer its just hard because he falls asleep and doesn't want to keep nursing more. I'll mention it to his pedi tomorrow since we have an appt and hopefully he's gaining weight.

So if you're EBF, when did your babies poop change to mustardy yellow and seedy?? I can't remember with Noah, it was so long ago!!

Green poop here too! Figured it was in transition from the black to yellow. Didn't dawn on me it was a concern. Let me know what your pedi says....

It took my last baby a couple weeks before he was having the yellow/seedy poops most of the time. My first almost never had them My pedi told me as long as they were happy and gaining weight not to stress it too much so hopefully yours will say the same thing.

Bram started seedy about a week or so after birth and we're still yellow/seedy.

It is tough when they fall asleep before they can get to the hind milk. You can always try hand expressing before you latch baby on to get past some of the foremilk. I had to do that with DS2 because I had so much milk that he'd never get to the hind milk before he was full.

I have a lot of poop experience because of Jack's liver issues. The nicu doctors always told us that poop can be any color, but if it turns white (liver issues) or has blood to call the doctor. As for the hindmilk, definitely try pumping first for a few minutes.

When we were trying to get little man to gain, our Dr said to START on the breast that you LEFT OFF WITH the previous feeding. It will have the most fatty milk.

Henry had only one true meconium poo. Then it was green until day 4. Day 5 and 6 it was sometimes green and sometimes yellow and seedy. I'm sure its normal...just have to wait on his digestive system to process everything.

my son had a milk protein allergy and he had the mustard seedy poo but we noticed mucus in his poop so if you notice that then bring it up to your pedi but glad to heard things are looking fine
