Here's the above referenced chiliI just cook out of necessity b/c I have to eat. I can follow any recipe but I don't come up with recipes myself. This is straight out of a Fix It And Forget It slow cooker recipe book.
A Crock Pot Chili Recipe
Makes 8-10 servings
2 lbs. ground beef
1 large onion, diced
28 oz. can diced tomatoes
2 8 oz. cans tomato puree
1, or 2, 16-oz cans kidney beans, undrained
4 oz. can diced green chilies
1 cup water
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 Tbsp. mild chili powder
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. ground cumin
1 tsp. pepper
1. Brown beef and onion in skillet. Drain. Place in slow cooker on High.
2. Stir in remaining ingredients. Cook on High 30 minutes.
3. Reduce heat to Low. Cook 4-6 hours.
This recipe is very easy to half. I've made a half batch a couple of times and it comes out just as good. I use 1 16 oz. can kidney beans in a half batch. I also always buy a fresh anaheim pepper and finely chop it instead of using the can of diced chilies. I've never used the canned chilies so don't really know how that would come out but the anaheim pepper is pretty mild so the chili has a little kick (I usually add a few of the seeds too) but is not burn your mouth hot at all...just enough to give it a good flavor.
Oooh - great recipes so far... can't do the bacon, wondering if the potato salad will be any good without it??
I make a heavenly chocolate pie that couldn't be easier!
Take a Brownie mix and mix up according to instructions. Pour batter in graham cracker crust. Buy pre made choc chip cookie dough cookies (forget the brand - basically little balls of choc chip cookie dough, usually in the fridge dept). Let them thaw a little and then flatten cookies and cover top of brownies with raw cookies. Put in oven to bake on 350 for approx 30-40 until cookies are brown. Brownies will stay gooey and delish. Warm up before serving! Enjoy![]()

Lynn, I was actually thinking I would add one or two cans of beans to stretch it farther!!It's scary how fast food vanishes in this house, and my kids are still small... In about 10 years I'm going to be in serious trouble!!! Anyway, I was just looking for a good chili recipe, so I'm definitely going to try this one out!

I make some darn good White Chicken Chili. It is by far my favorite thing to eat (besides anything fried of course) I will have to find it and link to it. Although I tend to not follow directions and just do my own thing. My mom was a chef too and I was homeschooled so cooking just was one of those things I ended up good at.
