Breastfeeding/formula feeding or both?

I'm doing both! I breastfeed excusively until about 6 weeks. Then I start incorporating formula. This helps me out so much because I live 20 minutes from home and I can't go home to feed baby. It just works for us and I don't see anything wrong with it.. plus it gives my hubby time to also bond with baby because he usually feeds baby while I cook dinner or do chores. We both enjoy feeding times!

Exclusively Breastfeeding!!!
I did it differently with both DS1 and DS2. DS1 was Exclusively BF for 23 months! It was worth it but really rough to let go of it.
DS2 was Exclusively BF for 4 months and then I started pumping so I could have others feed him and go out without him. Plus, he prefered th bottle and would drink more. I started mixing formula around 9 months and he is still getting BM at almost 14 months old. My milk production is starting to slow down so the end is near which is making me really sad, but my goal was 1 year and I did it!
After both experiences, I think exclusively BFing was easier and better for me.

I tried for my life to BF DD but I didn't produce milk and her weight dropped so low it was not a good thing. Sad I tried to pump but only got about 2 weeks. I'm told that even those 2 weeks were good for her..

This time will be like the last - I'm going to give it my everything to go as long as possible.. I'll be back at work before I know it so I'll pump (if I still am making BM.. ) but no guarantees if I'll even produce.

Stupid body. :sad11:

With the last 2 I BF while I was home on Maternity leave and started pumping when I went back to work, but it became so challenging and overwhelming to me that I ended up slowly transitioning to formula with both of them after 3-4 months...
Same probably this time around.

I breast feed DS until he was almost 8 months old. I had to stop because of psychiatric issues. I felt good that I did it for so long!! I'm hoping to be able to mainly BF and then substitute with formula as needed.

I definitely want to EBF until one year if I can. I don't want to bother with buying bottles or formula. With my son I EBF until 8-9 months, then he was able to hold a sippy cup and eat some solid foods. It really depends how long I can afford to stay off work though. I work 12hrs and with driving, I'm gone at least 13 so I have to wean completely before I return to work.

Adriana, I struggled with supply issues too and with my second I went on Domperidone which is a drug used for reflux but it's side effect is that it increases prolactin.
So with DS I BF him for 10 months but supplemented the entire time. It was rough.
With DD I was able to BF her for 16+ months with only a little bit of supplement when I was waiting for my meds to come in at the beginning.
This time around I plan to encapsulate my placenta and hopefully not have to do the meds and BF as long as baby and I are comfortable with.
I'd say it would be *way* hard if I were working. I really hate pumping so I can understand not being able to keep up with it then.
