Reason to be Scared :(

So the doctor came back and said that my body is producing E antibodies. These antibodies can attack the baby. I have to have more blood drawn every month to see if they are increasing. If they do next month, I will have to see a high-risk doctor. She said that since I am B+ she had never seen anything like this before and it is really rare. I found this site if you want to read more. It is another baby site where someone asked the question, but the answer seems legit.

Wow, that's really interesting and scary. I hadn't heard of something like that in someone with a + blood type. It's good that it appears to be not too severe most of the time. I hope yours is not severe. Great catch on the part of your doc!

Did she say what the alternatives are? As in.. will the E antibodies decrease if not continually produced? Will you always have a small amount? What effects does that have?

HUGS!! It's always scary to hear that kind of news. But sounds like your doc is on the ball and caught it early so she can keep a close eye. My sister had the Rhesus antibodies... was definitely MUCH worse than this. Hoping for a HEALTHY 7 months ahead!

I don't know any answers just yet. We will talk more at our appointment next Thursday. I have been mad researching since I got home but can't find anything on + blood types and this antibody. I am still shaking with fear and anxiety. I shake like when you are cold. This probably isn't good.

OK ok ok.. I just talked to my mom who has been an LDR nurse for 20+ years.. she said that while the E antibody is certainly something that can be scary and can cause miscarriage, it was more an "OMG :shock: " issue 60 years ago when they did not have the drugs they do today. She said that today, the majority of pregnancies go on to be happy and healthy with perfect kids.. She stressed the importance of prenatal care and that had your Dr not caught and put this issue on the radar, the results could have possibly been devastating. But he/she did and with that (I told her you were just at 7 weeks), your chances of a HH9M are as high as the sky.

I don't do a lot of internet searching for info simply because I don't believe everything I read.. I go to a source who knows what they're talking about.. like my mom. ;)

Thanks Adri! Does your Mom know anything about it in people with a + blood type? The high risk doctor and my doctor didn't seem to understand it. I know I need to relax and I will try, I am just one of those people that needs to know all the details so I can plan for every case. I am weird, I know!

I didn't ask about specific blood types.. but she did mention that the E antibody issue I told her about (and that you are B+) is exceptionally similar to the issue I and millions of others have gone through in that out blood is being a pain in the WOOTWOOT (lol) with the baby, simply because the baby most likely has the opposite blood type as our own. I'm O- and DD (as well as this baby) have a + type. I simply have to get the Rogham shot.. I've had one and will have another at 28 weeks so my body doesn't abort, plain and simple. It was freaky with DD because I didn't understand it but now that she's a happy, healthy almost 10 y/o, I know it was a-ok.

Blood types are funky.. Basically what is happening (and sorry if I'm repeating stuff you already know.. I'm just speaking from experience :lol: ) your body is expecting one thing but being faced with something different. So, naturally, like an infection, it's trying to fight it. I'm sure there's a little more to your case since they mentioned a high risk Dr but don't fret.. someone, somewhere has been through this before and your Drs are gonna be on it like white on rice. Flies to shi... well, you get the idea. ;) hehe

I know it's hard but breathe.. All will be a ok! Don't forget to talk to your little bean! The power of love and emotion is crazy! :D
