This rib pain
Is out of control! I had bad right rib pain with DD and for the past few weeks it's back on the left with this LO. Over the past 2 days it has become SEVERE; I dont complain much about pregnancy aches and pains because they are what they are, but this is more than an ache and a pain. I can't find relief...no position helps, Tylenol does nothing, and I anticipate it getting worse as LO grows over the next 7 or so weeks. I was almost in tears tonight... I hung upside down off my bed to stretch out and the urge to cry got better...

HUGS!!! I get rib pain sometimes (got it REALLY bad with my first pregnancy and after my son was born, my ribs were seriously bruised - he must have been in a position and just kept kicking the same spot for weeks on end :( ) This time it's not quite as bad, but I do get horrific hip pain at night. Doesn't matter what position I'm in my hips are killing me, with no relief, so I know what it's like and can commiserate!!!
This too shall pass, this too shall pass....

Callie, same here but mine is not constant. I just have little episodes, I guess. I so wish my torso was longer at times like those. 7 more weeks, girlie.. 7 more weeks. Hope time goes by fast or that your LO decides she wants to move to a different position. :bigarmhugs:

Wanted to offer another possible reason. Sometimes it's not just cause the baby is kicking. Google costochondritis. Or ask your HCP about it. It's when the rib cage is stretched so far that the intercostal tissue where the ribs and the sternum meet become inflamed. It is actually quite common in pregnant women, though very often misdiagnosed or not diagnosed at all. It's common in sports innjuries too. Unfortunately the only real fix is having the baby. Icing it can help (never heat! that will increase the inflammation) and ibuprofen can help, but pregnant women aren't recommended to take that.
I had it during both my pregnancies. It was crippling. But, thankfully, did go away pretty much once my babies were out.
Good luck, I hope you find some relief!

Yeah, DH and I thought it might be costochondritis too. It is worse than I've been kicked...list like my ribs are stretched and in serious pain. Even when I get babe to move away from the ribs, the pain is no better. And it is very tender to the touch too. Makes it hard to sleep with left side down...or should I say "lay" since sleeping through the pain is difficult. It was really bad again today and I was tempted to call the doc, but I know there ant anything to do about it anyway. *putting my tough chick attitude on*
