Thread: Sharp pain, constipated then diarrhea tmi

So i was at michaels and got this sharp stabbing pain in my left side around the bottom of my rib cage. I couldn't breathe and it hurt like heck. It went away within a minute. I felt a lot of gas bubbles in my tummy afterwards. then walking to the car it happened again. and a could more times. I got home and felt contstipated then suddenly diarrhea. I felt awful still and went upstairs to my bed and immediately had to go again. this time it was even more liquidy. My stomach has been cgurgling since. no more side pains but had some cramping that is coming and going. I'm afraid to move from bed however. Any BTDT experiences??? I'm not sure if I should go to the ER or Urgent Care or what.

oh and i kedep getting the chills.

Honestly? It sounds like you ate something that REALLY didn't agree with you and wanted out!! Anything with spices? Green leafy stuff lately??

I haven't eaten real healthy lately because I can't get myself to eat much.

I have irritable bowel syndrome and get that sort of thing a LOT. It's normally an hour or two after I eat something REALLY greasy...like fish and chips. I bet the Sonic did it. Super greasy and good...but oh so bad on your tummy. Did the pain go away after you emptied your bowels? If the pain is gone, I say don't worry about it.

I had terrible cramps this afternoon too...then I felt some liquid coming out of me and was scared I was bleeding. But alas all is ok and I, too, think it was just gas. How annoying. I'm trying to drink a lot of water just in case.

I agree with Heather. When my stomach starts to hurt and cramp - I get those pains like you were talking about ...but I've had 'em before so I KNOW I need to get a bathroom ASAP. I get chills when I have a stomach bug or really bad diarrhea.

Thanks ladies! I feel a lot better today. I made food last night even (chicken and sweet potato casserole) and managed to eat some.

Glad you are feeling better! Stomach pain is not fun while your pregnant!
