My mom has been admitted to the hospital based off some test results she had. She went into a routine appt, mentioned she was short of breath, they did some labs and the results prompted her Dr to tell her to go to straight to the ER and be admitted. So, here we are.. It's been a couple days and we're keeping our fingers crossed she'll be home tomorrow! :clappy:

I'm sorry Adriana! Glad she got to the doctor and they got her some care that she needs. Hope it's nothing to serious and she makes a full recovery! Hugs!
And not 20 minutes after I post that, I got the boot. lol.. She went for a nuclear stress test and because she will be "radioactive" for 24 hours after the fact, it was not advised that a 25 week pregnant woman be around her. It's a 2 day test because of her BMI so I won't get to see her until at least Saturday.. which kills me because my mom is my best friend and.. well, yeah. :(
HEATHER - Yes.. she's struggled with her weight a better part of her life but just recently she's become short of breath so she mentioned it to one of her dr's and they pulled some labs. The most critical result that was their reasoning that she get to the hospital was called a D Dimer (or at least that's how it sounds when you read it. lol.. ) Her levels were elevated which, according to the dr, signified a possible "ventricular something thermosomething embolism" (so technical, I know :lol: ) in her lungs / heart.
So anywho.. everything has been coming back a-ok on the tests the hospital is running other than her EKG which we knew would be off because she's had PVCs (I think they call them?) for a couple years now..
Seriously bummed.. sitting at home and can't get her off my mind.. :sad11:
OMG, you're mom is radioactive? :( That sucks! You poor thing. Can you phone her later and chat at least?
I'm always envious of women who are close to their moms. I just don't have that with my mom. I hope I can have it with my daughter(s). :(
Well by the end of the test she will be.. because of her size, she can't do the treadmill walking or any kind of exercise.. so they have to give her a nuclear injection that pretty much replicates "exercise". Whatever it is that they give makes her radioactive.. and it was recommended by the tech that I not be around. It was just a recommendation but my mom is OVERLY cautious.. and told me to get outta dodge. :lol:Quote:

Aweeee, thanks. I've always been a parent who is 'parent first, friend second'...but I hope when DD is older we can stay close. I don't know why my mom and I aren't. I'm a private person and so I guess when I was a teen I didn't share much with my mom. I"m also not touchy-feely so that probably added to the divide. My mom lives in the same city as me and I see her regularly (email more often) but we just aren't BFFs. KWIM?Quote:
