I snapped this morning.
I'm tired. And big. And sleepy. And always hungry. I'm fedup of no one pulling their weight around the house.. God for BID anyone lift a second finger to help a flippin pregnant woman out.
DD got the wrath of me this morning with all the clean laundry mysteriously making it back to the floor of her room when I asked her to put it away. And of course it HAS to be mixed in with ACTUAL dirty laundry so there's no telling what is what anymore.
She's CONSTANTLY spraying water all over the counter tops.. floors.. walls etc. when she squishes her hand up under the faucet and is only supposed to be washing her damn hands!! The toliet in her bathroom.. let's not even go there.
So when I go back downstaitrs, DH is asking what all the yelling is about.. so I tell him I'm sick of no one pulling their weight right now! He said "Wha'd she do? " I said, "YOU TOO!! I'm tired of no laundry getting done.. no dishes getting done.. no sweeping.. mopping.. dusting.. organizing.. general cleaning. I'm SICK and DONE with it all!!!! "
He says.. "I did laundry last weekend.. " as if to redeem himself from being a lazy a$$ every other day of the week?? He almost lost his man parts for that statement.
So yeah.. I'm at the end of my rope. Working 50-60 hours a week isn't sounding like such a bad thing right now. Those 2 can implode on themselves with nothing to eat on and nothing to wear.
Oh man, I so hear ya. I feel so tired these days and I'm over a month behind you. I also feel like DH doesn't help enough. I know he helps a lot but I just am getting to the point where I keep thinking "I can't do EVERYTHING". I get so exhausted by the end of the day and I can't bend and twist so well. When I'm pregnant we don't like me exposed to cleaners so our FOUR bathrooms don't get cleaned often...so much so that my mom cleaned two of our four toilets for us on the weekend. LOL
Anyways, I've just had to let go of the house. Either I ask DH to do a specific chore "Can you please pick up the toys, it's hard for me to bend over" or I just ignore it. I'm not a neat freak and now isn't the time to start.
If I had been you and DH said "I did laundry last weekend.. " I probably would have replied "Well, good thing you haven't MADE any laundry since..." Or something.
Perhaps it's time to teach your DD to do her own laundry? She's 10 right? I can't remember what age I started but 10 seems old enough. It would be a great help once baby gets here!
Hugs Adriana! Don't help them anymore, like you said, let them implode on themselves. I do that sometimes, I just straight up stop cleaning. It drives me nuts to have things dirty, but if I keep cleaning then DH won't. I hate when they say "I did that last week," referring to a single hour of chores, when that is part of your daily routine.
Sorry, I hope they start pulling their weight soon so you can catch a break. That freaking sucks!
Lol I'm laughing bc I feel that way sometimes too! It's so aggravating and not just at home but in general. At work.. in friendships.. etc. Right now I am helping plan a really good friend of mines baby shower.. which, BTW I will be 37 weeks preggo when it happens. I feel like I'm the only one planning it. But It's ok, she would do the same for me!! She went to my shower and even though she didn't help plan it bc it was completely different set of friends that did, she stayed there until it was all over even if she hardly knew anyone. Love her.
Anyway, these kids and men better start realizing that 5-6 weeks or less life is going to CHANGE majorly for the whole family and adjustments need to made NOW. Wow, I sound like a B.. but it's true. I know how overwhelming it can be.
The worst is when they realize they are doing something wrong and apologize for it, but don't change anything. Example:
I have dog walking duties in the morning and DH has them in the evening. But often he gets home late and I have to walk her 2x a day. He's supposed to make up for it by doing my mornings. Well he owes me like 4 morning walks now. This morning, was a random cold day for Texas (29 degrees), he knows I have hemorroids the size of Texas and I can no longer fit my swollen feet into boots, so I'm wearing flats in freezing weather. You'd think today he'd offer to help. I got back in after the walk and said, its really cold, I feel miserable, blah blah blah. He says "I should have walked her today." Umm you think? Plus he wakes up late and showers late and since we have only 1 shower, it pushes my whole schedule behind and I'm late to work. Yuuuuppppp!!! LOL.
I love you guys!! Adriana ((((HUGS)))) you have more balls than me! It's probably a good thing DH isn't home with me a lot. I get so SICK of cleaning everything!! He asked me what I was going to do when I got home today... (he only asks that when the house is a mess) and I said I'm gonna finish cleaning the kitchen (I started yesterday) and he said yeahhhhh and I said I need to wash some of your clothes...and he was like yeah, I'm out of longjohns. LMAO I'm thinking - you know how to use the washer and dryer, yes? I cook his dinner EVERY NIGHT - I clean up the kitchen and sweep the floor and everything else. He doesn't want me interacting with the bathroom cleaner chemicals, but yet it's not like he's gonna clean it. I try not to get too upset because he is working and going to school - and the drive is an hour each way AND I had a total douchebag husband before current DH, so I know how good he is to me.. but dang, this pregnant lady is TIRED. And MEAN. ((HUGS TO YOU ALL!!))
LMAO Elizabeth. My hubby TOTALLY would have been the same way. "You should have let me do it". UGH! He should have offered! They just aren't good at seeing the whole picture. I wish I could walk around all day with blinders on.
When I told DH that my mom was cleaning our toilets he says "Why?". Apparently my mom and I are the only ones who saw the filth.
I find you have to spell it out...and tell them you're tired 16 times a day.
LOL men! Seriously. But you know.. sometimes I would rather do it myself. A lot of times it won't get done right. But now heck, I want all the help I can get!
I'm so impatient though lately. I ask my DH to do something and he will say ok and 5 mins later he's still on the couch, etc. so I say "Ok, I will do it" and start to go to it. Seriously?!? Just get up and do it and I won't be in a bad mood LOL For some reason I just think they think we overreact but dang, they don't understand how pregnancy hormones can be.. so dang awful!! Nurturing a baby is hard work!
