Default How do you fight the nausea?

I'm feeling so very sick and i'm sick of being sick! Only 6 weeks in (almost) so I'm only half way done with the first trimester...Before now I've been queasy...The nausea hasn't been here that long but this past week it's been sooo soo bad!

I feel aweful! How are you ladies fighting it? I have preggie pops but they don't stave it off for long. I have ginger tea but that doesn't really work for long either. Eating kinda helps but I don't want to eat and eat and eat.

I don't remember it being this bad the last two times. Although that was years ago. My mother says I was VERY nauseous. Actually I do remember vomiting with DD2 and that hasn't happened to me yet with this one. Either way I'm tired of this symptom. LOL. I guess I can look to the silver lining that it means our bean is doing well.

Well, I was extremely nauseous weeks 6-10, it was all day long, and at it's worst at night. The only thing that really helped was eating very frequently - making sure I never felt hungry and my tummy was never empty, because that totally makes me feel sick. Now I am not feeling constant nausea, only in the mornings and times when I wait too long to eat. I also find that days when I am well rested I feel less nauseous.

There are also medications you can take, my midwife offered me one, but the side effect was being tired and I was already so tired I didn't want to make myself more tired.

Yeah. We eat breakfast at 6:30am. I end up eating again at 9am, 12pm, 3pm and 6pm. I feel like I'm eating all the time. But it's usually salad, soup, fruit, sandwiches, etc. I just have to watch my weight gain because I'm already considered obese. My BMI is 30 so I'm right there between overweight and obese

My BMI is pretty close to yours, I think it was right around 29 before I got pregnant, not obese, but overweight. I had this discussion with my midwife, she suggested carbs because they make me feel better. She seemed to be more of a proponent of get through the day and make sure you eat and the nausea will ease and you can go back to eating healthy as you normally do.

I've been struggling with this too. I can't find anything to help either. I've tried almonds, peppermint (tea and candy), crackers, carbs, protein, eating constantly, keeping hydrated. NOTHING WORKS! And if it does, it only works for a few minutes and then its back again. I'm not vomiting, but I'm right there all the time. I can not stand ginger so that is totally out. Now I'm congested too and that makes it even worse!

Also, I'm have diarrhea issues this time and didn't have that problem with the other two.

I eat frequently. It really helps me, but my nausea has been mild. I haven't thrown up yet. If it gets to the barfing point I'd start taking my zofran.

I can't wait for this part to be over. but...side note...so glad there's confirmation of a bean that's healthy.

For me it was worst from weeks 6-10, now I only feel nauseous a few times a day. I don't know how I got through those weeks, it was awful.

Midwife has suggested all kinds of natural remedies that are not helping anymore.
So so sick and tired of being sick and Zofran is on back order...I'm stuck like this for another...2-4 weeks. Really, really hoping things let up around week 10
