i feel faT, fat, fat!!!
Mostly prepared. Getting my cerclage out very soon!!
He will be named Sebastian!
Well DD is 9, so we aren't doing much. We are hoping to include her in all once baby is home and will try very hard to give her as much attention as possible.
I'm feeling tired and miserable! I will be 37 weeks Friday but I expect to keep this baby in until at least 40 weeks. We don't know the gender of this baby and we only have a girl's name chosen (DH and I can't agree on a boys name)
We have talked about the baby through the whole pregnancy. We have also shown the boys birth videos as they might be around for the birth (we are planning a home birth) My oldest 2 already know what being a big brother is like and what having a new baby is like. My youngest who is 22 months is the one I am most worried about. He's so clingy to me and I think that having "competition" from a new baby will be tough on him.
Hope everyone else is doing well. Not much longer to go...
Kristin - Mom to 3 little boys and one baby girl
I'm still feeling okay for the most part... some days are better than others. I've come to the realization that all contractions are stress-induced, so I have really tried to cut back at work. By the end of the day, my back usually hurts and I have varicose veins in horrible places that are also killer. Luckily, I don't have terrible heartburn this time, so that is a definite plus.
We aren't doing much to prepare for baby. We got a new car seat and bases for the cars and will move the bassinet into our room when May gets closer. The baby is going to live in our room, so there's nothing to decorate. We don't know the gender, so there are no clothes or blankets to wash. It has made it not quite as exciting as normal because I can't see baby progress everyday, other than knowing that there is a baby with me 24/7 that seems to have the hiccups all the time!
Names are especially tough for us. We two potential names for boys, but one isn't top of my list because I think it sounds strange with our last name. We have 3 names on the girl list, but I don't LOVE any of the names so I'm not sure. I've also been a total slacker and haven't looked at any baby name books and am basing this solely on website searches that I seem to do from 1-3 am when I can't sleep!
I'm going to try to enroll the older 2 (6 and 4 y/o) in a kids' class at the hospital where I will deliver. I think they will both enjoy it. They both understand what is going on since they've been through it before, but my almost 2 year old has no idea what is coming. He's typically very laid back and easy going so hopefully there are no issues! He's halfway potty trained on his own right now, but I'm too worried about regression to put forth much effort right now.
How is everyone feeling? Feeling ok. Just tired of doing nothing. I'm on bedrest until April 15th. I'm already 3 cms dilated and if if I'm up a lot I start having contractions. The doctor said she thinks he will be here before the end of April! He is measuring 2 weeks ahead. I started getting steroid shots this week just in case he decides to come early.
Prepared, still a lot to do, not planning to do anything? I'm going to go ahead and pack his bag tomorrow and ours. My brother is going to help me finish painting the other dresser for his room tomorrow, if the weather is not nasty. Other than that we are ready to go!
Baby name? Camden Nicholas Lee Coleman
How are you preparing other kids for the baby? The boys are so excited and ready for him to come! They have helped me get his room ready and they love helping me put his clothes up and say they will help me change diapers!
How is everyone feeling? Feeling ok I guess. I have some major complaints for heartburn which has turned into acid reflux and sometimes even causes vomiting..which then brings on a strong case of braxton hicks. I have braxton hicks a lot and sometimes they are VERY painful, especially if he's in my ribs. I haven't been checked for dilation in over a month. I did have some green mucous when i wiped yesterday but midwife said it's ok...
I've also been battling a sinus infection and I have that weird sweet smell of illness in my nose today. I hate it. I wish I would get over this already and feel better lol.
Prepared, still a lot to do, not planning to do anything? I feel like there is still a ton to do...and that my list just gets bigger. We got a fish tank from the inlaws that is disgusting...and no matter how hard I scrubbed the outside I could not get all the old crusty stuff off. I have 2 oscars that are about 6inches and 7inches long. And two algae eaters that are just as long...in a 20 gallon tank. So I desperately need to get this large tank cleaned and move them over.
I still haven't put the bedding set on Aiden's crib or hung his curtains...but his pack-n-play is already set up in our bedroom for his first few months...so I'm sure I can do the bedding and curtains later.
We have a baby shower, out of town, this weekend and we're taking our "new" RV into town. I need to clean it up before we go or I will not feel comfortable sleeping on the bed or eating anywhere.
I have some added stress because my uncle is sick from the same disease that killed my dad...and my grandmother is on her death bed too. Plus I'm in charge of making her memorial video that EVERYONE wants done before she dies...
There's just...a lot going on to say the least and it's getting to me.
Baby name? Aiden Columbus Richey Palmer
How are you preparing other kids for the baby? My two kids, ages 7 and 5 (almost) have been watching birthing videos with us. We've read some books and talked a lot about what will happen. My eldest was only 22 months when my second was born. I'm not sure she really remembers how it was to have a baby in the house. And of course my youngest doesn't know what it's like to have a baby in the house.
We're birthing at home and I have all of that stuff ready. I just hope it all goes as planned since this will be a VBAC attempt.
Whew...that was long-winded. Sorry. Thanks for reading.
