check-in

Just wondering how everyone is doing? The board has been pretty quiet lately so just thought people could update on what's going on.

DH just got in a new troop yesterday and the troops house hunting leave starts tomorrow. And Thurs I'm being induced. I asked DH if he could take off another week as DS's school would just finish and summer vaca would start right when his paternity leave is up and I don't really want to jump straight into that by myself. I don't know if it'll fly as his new troop will still be out and 2 others will be out on leave as well Sad But we'll deal with that when we get there. I'm hoping we'll find out more tomorrow as that'll be his final day before leave.
We're also planning a vacation at the end of June. My sister is due in about 3 weeks and I just have to see her kiddo. We are also in the process of getting our house on the market in hopes of selling before orders can come in next year. I think that's about it on this end

I hope you have a smooth induction! Smile

I'm still stuck in hell....I mean Del Rio. We should hopefully find out what's next in 3 months, 16 days. Not that I'm counting or anything. Lol My son has discovered crawling as a means of getting around (thankfully he's bad at it and quite slow...for today). He's wearing me out! Going home in a month to enjoy the land of Starbucks, Target, Kohl's, and sushi for a couple of weeks.

I've been MIA, but I have my honey back for a while. He just missed the last movement when he left for basic, so we're clear until a year and a half unless something big happens. Dance with me. lol

We're still in "limbo". He was supposed to deploy back in Feb/March but due to paperwork issues, he didnt. Now paperwork is fixed but they dont know if they will bother to deploy them. I hate this "limbo". I'd rather know already. Next "discussion" with leadership is in July. sigh. I am enjoying having him here though, he just took a week vacation and stayed at home with me Smile

We are doing well here. DH got home from deployment in March and we are enjoying having him here. Unfortunatley they are already getting geared up to deploy again in December. We made it through the first three so I am sure we will make it through this one too Wink

Tiff- I see from your new siggy that you had your baby! Congrats! She is BEAUTIFUL!!!

We are in the COUNTDOWN... wahooooo!!! Under 30 days now Biggrin This has been one of the longest years of my life!

We finally got into housing, and I broke bad and hired a company to move our stuff out of storage. Thank goodness for fellow military wives... I was a tad bit overwhelmed. I must say, after living off post, and now being on post, I really like the whole community feeling on post. I finally feel like we are where we belong.

We're just waiting on baby over here. I'm at the point of no return now and if I go into labor on my own they won't stop me. My complications are still there, but not nearly as serious as DS (who was induced at 37 weeks).. so I likely won't end up being induced until 39 weeks, if at all. Dr is going to strip my membranes next week and he's hoping that will put me into labor on my own between 37 and 38 weeks. If I haven't gotten into labor on my own at 38 weeks then he'll do it again, with the same hopes happening between 38 and 39. If I haven't popped by 39, they'll induce. They don't want me to go overdue b/c of the complications, so we'll see.

Dh is on his last week of leave, he goes back to work the day of my 37 week appointment. Then he'll get another 10 days off cuz of the paternity leave.. haha. They still aren't doing anything at work yet, their stuff is still on it's way home so even when he goes back to work, it'll be easy days so the paternity leave shouldn't be a problem.

DS is having a sleep study done because for about the last 12 months he hasn't STTN-- he's up 1-3+ times a night hysterically crying and his moods during the days are JUST ROTTEN. The handful of days he's gotten a full nights sleep he's in a great mood..The lack of sleep, although it's annoying, is yes, a part of parent hood, but these rotten moods (I mean full on aggressive tantrums lasting 30 minutes+, like the one he's having right now) are just getting out of control and with a newborn coming into the home soon we really have to try to find a happy medium for everyone. The pedi wants to rule out things like apnea and any other sort of sleep disorders. Granted everything from the sleep study comes back clean, which obviously we're hoping it will, then we can sort of back track and try to see what's up. We did a benadryl test with him and even that doesn't help. The Pedi is at a loss as to WHY this would have started considering he STTN starting at about 4-5 weeks old and then at about 7 months decided sleep sucks.

So all in all, we've got a busy few weeks a head of us..

Hi!

I haven't been around here in a VERY long time; but am going to try to get here some. I know a few of you from other places.

My name is Alisa, my DH is AD Navy. We are 5 months into a 6 month deployment. This is deployment #5. We just found out that he will be leaving in March for a 10 month deployment. With workups and offloads, he will be home almost 5 months out of 2 years and we were warned last night that the time pier side is expected to be very busy.

So, I'm feeling kind of discouraged right now. The support group for the ship (It's the FRG and an online forum) has gotten so bad that they had MA's (navy police) in to supervise.

I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone, but I'm not sure how much support and encouragement I'll be right now. Beee

welcome Alisa. I think I remember you from a while back. That sucks about DH being deployed so much. Hopefully you'll find the understanding and support you need here.

oh honey... that would be so discouraging.. I can't say I'd be able to handle it with any class myself.
You know I love you tons, you can talk to me any time. I'm usually up until about 3am anyway and I'm on mountain time so I'm not far off. I know night time can be the worst too. If you need my number it's on facebook but inbox me if you want me to just send it to you.

Hi Alisa! My DH is AD Navy too. We are in San Diego now, but moved here from Norfolk in 2007. Sorry to hear about the FRG Sad That is supposed to be your SUPPORT!!! :bigarmhug: I know how hard it is, we just got done with deployment #3 in March and are gearing up for #4 in December. Please, PM me any time you need to talk or vent. I was AD myself up until 2003 so I know the frusterations from both sides of the fence, lol.
