I did not think we would see him until the 7th. He had me on the phone and asked what I was doing (I knew he was driving to VT) and I told him the kids and I are in the living room. Simon and I are on the sofa and he is nursing. The big kids where playing cars and blocks on the floor. He asks what we are going all the time so that was nothing new.
He had been on and off the phone with me for over 24 hours at that point and he would drive in and out of cell range and when he got it back he calls back. Well shortly after he asked the question the phone went dead. But instad of calling back the door opned and he walked in
As soon as he opned the door I don't even think he had time to say hi the kids where screaming DADDY DADDY DADDY and he had to pick up Tessa and fend off the boys to get upstairs to where Simon and I where. Not only was it awesome to see him but I just love how my kids miss him as much as I do when he is not here. The photos of him and Simon looked at eachother is right after he got to the sofa. Simon knew who he was.
Then Tessa asked him if he would spend the night and he did He stayed until 5pm and then had to drive back to VT so he can bring the gov car back to work but it was an awesome 24 hours. He took me to bed at 8:30pm since we where not up on the phone and was a help all night with the baby. Then we slept in (missed sunday school) and made it to 11:00am church. He took us all to lunch and then we came home and had a nap together before he had to go. Perfect way to spend a rainy Sunday. I kept hugging him and saying "your real" I know he is real when he calls every day but OMG it is so amazing to just get to touch him after over a month I cried the first time he hugged me. I don't know how I would do much longer times apart.
