Behaviors --Funny or otherwise

While on the topic of behaviors, what things to your little ones do that are funny to you (even if not to them) or drive you nuts?

Zayden is in this phase of crazy independence, he has to do it, his way. If he can't find something like blanky, we go and look for it but God forbid, one of us find it and pick it up. We have to go hide it again then so he can find it.

The funny one is if he wants to pick something up or grab something and without thinking we grab it first. Melt down central. but then he will sit there and grab at nothing over and over again until we put it back. Last week, he dropped some crayons on the floor and went to go get them...I just picked them up and put them on the table without thinking, and he started crying, sat down on the floor and kept reaching for where the crayons were like he was still trying to pick them up. Its actually really funny to watch even though he gets really upset. (I wound up putting the crayons back where they were, he picked them up and we were all smiles again)

The one that drives me NUTS now is that he has learned to hide under a table or something if he doesn't want to be grabbed so I will call for him and if he doesn't come, go to get him and he will duck and hide under a table so I have to crawl under to get him.

I'm sure I will have more to add to this later but for now I can say that Deacon is very competitive. He has to WIN or BEAT YOU at everything. He always wants to eat his dinner all gone first, run down the stairs and beat me, really anything you do with him he says "I'm gonna beat you! I win!" Even when he doesn't come close to winning he still says he wins. LOL

And since Justin's surgery he has told me a few times that his neck hurts. Yesterday I was asking him to pray and he said "I can't, I don't have a voice, the dr cut me" LOL

An annoying behavior is that he is really slow. Slowest eater ever and just very laid back and nothing is ever a rush. I can be losing my mind and telling him to hurry up and he won't step it up even a little. He definitely gets that from Justin.

One sweet thing he does is just randomly and out of the blue he says "Mommy? I love you. You're my beeessssttttt friend!" I love that! Also when we hold hands he will always grab my hand, kiss it and say "I love holding your hand mommy" Although yesterday he followed it up with "but sometimes I don't like holding your hand, but sometimes I do" LOL

Aww Deacon is so sweet! And I HATE the slow stuff --it seems the more I am in a hurry the slower he goes!

Zaydens funny thing now is he love to hide. Course, he hides in the same spot most of the time. When we go upstairs for bath time he runs into our room and says I want to hide from daddy and I have to cover him with the covers and tell daddy that I lost Zayden. DH come in and "finds" him then Z says mommy go away and pushes me out of the room so he can hide from me.. .. . .in the exact same spot. LOL

Oh yeah, D does the hiding thing too. He also run ahead of you and gets behind a wall like he is going to jump out and scare you. But instead he just stands there like a statue and waits for you to scare him. LOL

One that is so annoying and yet I feel bad punishing her for is her OBSESSION with Layla. I can't call it anything else. She is constantly hugging her, kissing her, trying to hold her, dragging her somewhere, etc etc etc. And now that Layla is always trying to stand up and walk along the furniture, when Sophia tried to hug her of course she pulls her down and inevitably Layla hurts herself if I don't watch them constantly. She even hugs and kisses her in the bathtub, which typically knocks Layla over and if I don't grab her in time she goes under, so I've had to institute a NO HUGGING OR KISSING IN THE BATHTUB rule. Who would have thought, right?? And when I get so mad at Sophia about it (for the hundredth time) she says "but mommy I just love her so much" I mean, what am I supposed to say to that? I just say "Sophia I know you love her sister but you can't do ______ because you are actually hurting her" And Layla has gotten old enough to start getting pissed about it so as much as she also loves Sophia, she has started to let out squeals when Sophia tries to hold her or pulls her down when she wants to crawl.

Sometimes when I'm putting Sophia to bed and I'm about to leave she'll grab me and say "mommy I just wish you could stay here with me forever" No matter how much she frustrated me in the 15 previous minutes while I was trying to get her in bed, that one gets me every time.

Her new favorite saying is "Do you have any idea _____?" She'll say "Mom, do you have any idea how to fix this toy?" or "Do you have any idea why Layla is crying?" She uses it several times a day.
