Halloween

What are your kiddos wanting to be for Halloween this year?

Miles was saying he wanted to be Thomas, so I got him a Thomas costume. Now he wants nothing to do w/that costume (of course) and goes back and forth between a Pirate and a Scarecrow. Although he was a Scarecrow for his first halloween so I'm hoping he'll want to be a Pirate. I'll wait a bit closer to see what else he wants to be. Lol

funny you posted this question. I was trying to post the same thing and Cora cruised over and started attacking my keyboard.

We have been talking about it, and Lyla doesn't seem to come up with much. She loves Tinkerbell, and my sister got her a fairy costume. Lyla was so mad that the wings didn't work, and she couldn't fly. I guess being a fairy is out.

She said she wants to be a pumpkin, train engineer, zoo keeper, cowboy, etc, but it always changes, and she never sticks to the same thing. I think this might be the last year I get a chance to pick. My original thought was to dress her and Cora up like "Thing 1" and "Thing 2."

Deacon still wants to be a t-rex. However, I assume as it gets closer he will change his mind so I haven't bought the costume yet.

Jackson wanted to be a horse, but I think we've convinced him to be a cowboy. We're also trying to wait until Halloween is closer in case he changes his mind.

Jack doesn't seem to have a preference, so he might end up being a smurf lol Biggrin

I'm thinking Claire may end up being Elmo again, as the costume we got last year was size 3/4 and was HUGE on her then - maybe it would actually fit her better this year lol! She doesn't seem to really show any interest, but I agree - this might be the last year I can pick!

She'll use the same bumblebee costume as last year, if I can help it. It'll fit her, & I'm hoping she won't figure out she can ask for something else!

PIRATE!!! Josh loves Jake and the Neverland Pirates on Disney channel. I'm happy he will be able to get alot of use out of the costume. He will be going trick or treating in our neighborhood, at daddy's office, at Dutch Wonderland, at our Rennaissance Faire and hopefully his preschool will have a dress-up day. I may or may not dress up to match. I may just buy a pair of striped witch tights and Halloween shirt and pairnit with a black skirt and some Halloween barrettes I forgot to send my nieces last year.

Ava wants to be Queen of the Osti bugs or Plex from Yo Gabba Gabba. She's going to be this, because I think it's super adorable! I'm 95% sure she won't mind me deciding for her this year. I hope!

I'm struggling to find Andrew's costume. I want something that is complete without a hat or head piece, since he won't wer them. this is his costume from last year. I kinda hope it still fits. It's super cute too.

Seriously?

You guys are SO much better organized than I am! I am still trying to figure out what I am doing this weekend, much less think about costumes for Halloween.

Dirol

I guess I gotta think about that so my kid doesn't feel deprived when his costume is whatever is left at the store the day before Halloween. (Okay, I am not that bad) --(I hope)

We are using whatever fits from the dress up bin this year. I was looking at costumes today and I just cannot pay $30 for a costume, insane! They all still love playing dress up so whatever we can come up with will work without choice this year!

We haven't really talked about it and not sure she really has a preference. I think her ladybug costume from 2 years ago should fit b/c it was a 2/3T. Otherwise I was thinking Tinkerbell or a Princess of some sort. Her new favorite movie is Tangled but not sure if there will be a costume for that or how i'll pull that one off!!

It's a given that Ava Douglas will be Dorothy for Halloween. She has been obsessed with the Wizard of Oz for months. So much so she will wake up in the morning and say "You can call me Dorothy" or if I call for her she'll say "Can you just call me Dorothy" ha ha This weekend I got her the hair and she refused to take it off. I got her the costume and the basket and her grandmother had already bought her 3 pair of Dorothy shoes so she is set.

Amy: Ava has a Tangled costume. We got it at Walmart for $20. Of course Disney has them and they are a bit more elaborate and $50. But I've seen the Tangled hair at either Target or Party City. She can pull off Rapunzel Wink

My mom just bought her the dress, hair and crown/sachel set at Target today!! It's going to be part of her bday present. So she'll just give it to her a little early for Halloween. Shes going to love it! She got her the Rapunzel barbie too.

I'm not sure what we'll put Jude in this year, but I feel fairly certain I'm not going to ask him his opinion. Wink He'll surely change what he wants right after I buy or make his costume, and this is probably the last year I'll be able to get away with not asking him what he wants to be. I've been doing some looking around to see if I can come up with something simple and cute - hopefully something that can incorporate both boys, but we'll see. Still on the hunt!

I bought Layla an adorable little cow costume at Costco for $12. That's about as much as I want to spend on Halloween. They had Princess dresses for Sophia's size but they were for some movie she's never seen and that didn't seem fun for her. She would love to be Tangled. (Rapunzel) Although lately she is hilariously obsessed with Lightning McQueen, which I find SO funny considering she has never even seen the movie. I think that might be a product of the fact that she has mostly boys in her class at school right now. It would be funny to me if I let my daughter dress up as a Cars character.

I wish I would have thought to ask for a Halloween costume for Sophia's birthday cause I really don't want to buy one. I'm going to have to remember that for next year.

Amy, this was SOOOO me last year. I swore I wasn't buying Sophia a costume, and then I was at Target the day before her school costume party, picking costumes up off the floor and trying to find a complete one for under $15. Lol

It was about 3 weeks ago but just last weekend they still had a whole huge rack of costumes at mine. They are Carters brand and they had a lot of different ones for babies (mostly animals). Not so many options for older kids, though.
