Sophia wants to be batman. I'm going to try to influence that toward batgirl. LOL I found these two costumes, which are both cute...I actually prefer the black one but I'll see if she likes either one of these.

Tutu Batgirl Costume for Girls?-?Party City

Layla is going to wear a hand-me-down ladybug costume from Sophia Wink

We will trick or treat in our neighborhood and no, mommy and daddy are not dressing up.

Carrie, that black Batgirl costume is great!!!

Not sure what Josh will be, some days he says a pirate. Which is great, because that was what he was last year and it still fits. But he also likes the Spider-Man costume he saw at Costco/BJ's.

I will be in a fun outfit, but not a full on costume. I have a purple Halloween shirt and a pair of purple and black striped tights that I wear with a black twirly skirt. Need some new shoes to go with it though, lost them in the move I guess.

Update, she picked the pink one. BOO, I really liked the black one too! I tried and tried to sway her to the black one, but, to no avail. Oh well, pink batgirl it is.

I wish I could have convinced Sophia to go with one of the costumes at Costco...they were a great price!

Zayden's kept saying he wanted to be a frog for a couple of months now. His costume when he was two was a frog and he wants the same one. I keep trying to make sure that's what he wants to be, so today he said no he wanted to be a Hot Air Balloon. Ummmm, Frog it is then.

HA! Hot air baloon would be so cute but that would take some serious paper mache Wink My mom made me a hershey kiss costume once out of wire hangers and foil. I won a costume contest, and I LOVED that costume, but it took her forever to make. I think I'll wait until my kid's old enough to really appreciate it before I put that much time and energy into it. lol

Josh chose the Spider-Man costume. I tried to sway him towards the astronaut one, but he was adament that he be Spider-Man. We are heading to Dutch Wonderland this afternoon for rides and trick or treating. Then we have DH's work party on the 26th, Josh's school party and actual trick or treating on the 31st.

Oh my gosh, a hot air balloon would be awesome...but a LOT of work! I think Jude is going to go as Charlie Brown and Cohen is going to go as Linus. I have a blue dress, so I might put that on and be Lucy. We've been watching The Great Pumpkin to get them excited about it, but haven't told them what we plan on them being yet. Cohen has this blanket that he drags around everywhere, so it started with us joking that we may as well make him Linus so he can take his stinkin' blanket around with him!

Our church has a fall carnival on Halloween, so we'll go to that. I'm debating leaving early and taking the kids trick or treating afterwards. It'd be just me and the boys [Shawn will have to stay at the carnival to help], but this is our first year in this neighborhood, and I think it'd be a great way to get to know the neighbors.

I kept trying to get him back to the Froggie but a few nights ago DSD Ashely mentioned --in front of him -- that he should be one of his beloved Angry Birds. Sigh. Now that apparently is the only option. Grrrr

Hah. There are a lot of angry bird costumes, but I didn't see any that were too cheap.

Aasha wants to be a fairy, because my brother and his wife sent her fairy wings with matching headband antennae type thing and a wand. They sent it to her right before Manoj was born, and she loves it and decided that would be her "costume". Needless to say, I was all for it! Easy Smile

My girls are going to be Thing 1 and Thing 2, dh is going to be The Cat and the Hat, and maybe I will try to be the mom. We are expecting over 800 trick or treaters. I really need to do a little decorating. I saved the lollipop decorations I made for the Candyland birthday party, so I will use that again (not very spooky). We will probably have about 20 people over. Everyone hangs out on our big front porch. The parents take kids out, and others hand out candy. We usually have at least 2 people handing out candy, and there is still a line. This will be the first year they will be blocking off our street, so cars can't go down.
