Hello! You may remember me. I was a part of this board for almost 2 years. Then we found out that Joshua had some developmental delays and we started early intervention. In October of last year he was diagnosed with a rare chromosomal disorder which is what has been affecting his development. We have been very lucky in that 75% of the time there is sickness associated with it and he has been very healthy. He is doing very well and growing like a weed. The last few months have been especially great, he's walking now and sleeping in a toddler bed!
The reason I left was after his physical therapy evaluation, which was very hard for me, I posted about it and well I'm not sure how to put it but the result was I felt hurt and left. It hasn't been easy but the rewards have been worth it. I am so proud of how well he has done. The physical therapist and I have never gotten along, he still goes to her but my DH takes him and I have found out I'm not the only one who doesn't like her. I have told her how I've felt, sent her an e-mail after our last meeting and felt good about it. He also gets occupational therapy and speech therapy weekly and goes to preschool 2 mornings a week. In a few weeks we have a meeting to discuss possibly transitioning him to public preschool when he turns 3 and ages out of early intervention.
I have been lurking, congrats to those of you who are pg again and have recently had your new LOs! It seems that everyone is doing well. Anyway I just wanted to pop in and say hello. I have a blog which I try to update if you're interested.
