Home!

Hi Girls

Just wanted to let you know that we have come back home. We are living with the bare minimum when it comes to necessities but it was a decision that I needed to make.

Emma spent the past two days crying, she is stressed beyond belief with 2nd grade already and all she wanted was her own bed in her own house. So even though we have no heat (which we don't need) no air condition, no gas and no hot water, I decided it was in the best interest of the girls to come home.

It was uncomfortable for me but they are so happy to be home! We should have hot water tomorrow and maybe the air will be fixed sometime next week. It is still so hot and humid here that it is uncomfortable but we are dealing.

The repairs are going to cost a fortune and after all is said and done it's more than the insurance will provide so I will probably have to wait for my washer and dryer for a while.

None of this all matters knowing the girls are happy now.

On to other things,

2nd Grade, maybe the end of me!! LOL!! Today is the 4th day of school and Emma's homework took 2 hours. She had to write 8 of her 15 spelling words in a sentence. OMG, it's so much work for a 7 year old and so fast. Her teacher is not even showing compassion for our circumstances, she sent home a second reminder about Emma not having enough sharp pencils.

I wrote the teacher a note explaining to her that we didn't have access to any school supplies at the moment and would make our best attempt to get it done. Somethings just blow my mind.

Well that's all for my update. Thank you for all the support and prayers. I am so blessed to have the support of all of you behind me!

So glad to hear you're home!!!

How awful the teacher isn't showing compassion, that is just awful. I might give her a piece of my mind, although you have to deal with her all year, but still, she needs to hear it. Hope 2nd grade gets better.

Please KUP!!

Thanks Kristen! I'm trying to keep things in perspective and I do not by any means want special treatment just a little understanding. It is insane how things never change for some people regardless of what goes on around them!

I'm really sorry that teacher is not being understanding! Unbelievable. Sad I hope you're able to get all your repairs done soon.

This! I hope you are able to get through to her that some things just aren't a priority to you right now.

So happy to hear you're home and things are starting to fall back into place! What a rude teacher! How many sharp pencils does a child need?! Good grief!

Thanks girls! We have HOT WATER now! WOOHOO! Things are getting better. I spoke to the school guidance counselor today and she mentioned to me that Emma's teacher wants to speak with me after school today, hopefully someone made her aware of what is going on and we can get perspective on things and just put this entire mess behind us!

I am so grateful for all of your support!!

Found it on the chit-chat thread! Lori, how terrible what you went through, but so glad you're able to be home! I have to add that 2 hours homework for grade 2 is nuts!

I'm a little late on this post but I'm so glad you're home Lori! And, you have HOT water now which is a God send I'm sure.

I can't believe the teacher. Does she not live in the same area you do? Was she not affected by the hurricane??? What is her problem? Geeessshhhhhh
