How did you get to 33 weeks already?! Your pregnancy has flown by. Are you ready? Not just physically - but do you have everything set up or do you still have stuff to do? Have you guys finished the nursery?

Ack, we aren't ready at all!!! I've been buying some stuff, but literally just throwing it into the closet of the baby's room, which right now is our spare room. That room is a disaster right now and it's kind of freaking me out, even though I'm trying not to let it freak me out.

The thing is, MIL is possibly staying this weekend, so we need the spare bed in there to stay put. Then I have 2 friends coming the next whole weekend, so we need the bed to stay put. Then my aunt is staying the next weekend, so again. After that I'm debating finally buying some storage bags for the bed to bag up the mattress and put it in the garage (the bed will eventually go into Janet's room and that will be our spare room, once her house is finished. We haven't even STARTED on her house yet though!). So, once the mattress is out, I can set up the crib in there and start to get baby clothes/etc organized. But that also means getting Jackson's new furniture out of the boxes in the garage, setting that up in Jackson's room, then moving nursery furniture into the baby's room. ACK! See how I'm freaking out! It's like a domino effect right now at our house. We haven't even gotten baby clothes down from the attic because if I were to wash them up, I wouldn't have anywhere to put them yet! Oh, and Donnie is talking about having a fire-party here on June 4th, so I'm not sure if we'd need the spare room for party-crashers, ack. Bag packed for the hospital, haven't even thought about it. Car seat down from the attic? Nope. Please remind me that all of these things don't take long at all to do, because my list looks long!

Thankfully I didn't really have anything to buy. All I've bought is some diapers (really kicking myself for not buying more with the initial Amazon Mom deals), glass bottles, an Ergo on babysteals (such a steal!), a Moby, and a coming home outfit. That's it! I also already bought the envelopes for baby announcements, so I can pre-address them, and a bunch of hats/blankets/props for newborn pictures Smile

I go to the midwife on Friday and then start going every week! He was head-down, but last night flipped, but today I think he's back to head-down. Pretty sure. Oh, and Donnie's new station this summer is 3 1/2 hours away!!! Ack! I really have no problem if he's not there, he was pretty useless last labor, and I really wouldn't be one to hold it against him. But, it would still be kind of sad! Fingers crossed about that!

 Sounds like you have a few things on your plate.

What you said is true though - its all quick stuff - like the stroller, getting baby clothes down, etc. And besides, when he gets here you can easily work on clothes and things then. You don't technically need all those clothes washed and ready to go by the time you deliver. So you have plenty of time on that stuff. (Is this helping? LOL I am being serious though).

As for the Fire party, I'd gladly let the party crashers sleep on the floor. You shouldn't postpone your nursery for them. Being your second you may deliver early. Didn't you delivery early with Jackson?

Oh Kristen,

That does sound like a lot to get done. Just do it in babysteps. Can you get an air mattress for guests to sleep on and just put it in the baby's room for now, so that you can get all this other stuff taken care of? Each thing does sound contingent on the next thing getting done. Or what about a tent for party crashers. Take care of you. Things can be stressful enough when baby comes home. Stuff piles up fast. Good luck.

Looking at it differently....you will still be blessed with your new baby even if nothing gets done. It just may go a little more peacefully and smoothly if you feel that your ducks are in a row. It is just one less thing, you know?

Do you do belly pics? I'd love to see one.

That's totally what I'm thinking, party-crashing boys can sleep on the floor. Or bring tents, heck, my family is tent camping it at our house for 4th of July.

Yep, delivered early with Jackson. Plus, I think they have my date a week late, so I definitely would think I'm delivering earlier than my date! They say June 18th, so I'm thinking around the 10th. We'll see, who knows, I could be late this time! I seriously doubt it though, my stomach is already stretched to the max. I'm predicting my water breaks like last time. Midwife said that's just how some people do it.

Thanks Lauri! I am so excited for him to be here. Thankfully I do have a lot of help at home. My mom is living with us, so I'm not scared it won't get done, even if it's done the week he's here.

Here's the only belly pic I have, I really haven't taken any!

I laughed out loud at Jenn's response to how much you have to do, because I know she was actually hyperventilating at the thought of it all. LOL. She'll have everything done by 20 weeks. Blum 3

And I agree, drunk fire boys sleep in tents outside!

I think everyone is a bit more relaxed the second time. Do you really need the nursery ready? Or will the baby sleep in your room for a while? It seems like the things you really need done are done and you still have time. Plus you are going to start nesting sometime soon and then I bet you really start to get ready.

Yep Kelly, that's exactly why I'm trying not to stress. The baby will be in our room for as long as we want. My friend lent us her bassinet for our room, since the baby's room is clear across our house and there's no way I'm getting up a million times a night and walking over there! And I bought another changing pad and set it up on a low dresser in our room, so we have a full set-up in our room!

Thanks Carrie, Jenn will have everything done by 20 weeks. Way to make me feel better. LOL, j/k. I remember she was like the first to post pictures of the bee nursery all finished! Yeah, that's so not me this time!

Actually - I was super on top of things with Deacon. But this time I'm kind of like "ehh, it will get done. I can do a lot of it on maternity leave". I don't want to redo a nursery or anything and the crib is already in our room, so I don't feel like I have much to do. Justin on the other hand is ready to find out the gender and start redoing the nursery  We still haven't used that room for Deacon so what's the point?! Although we may need to do a little remodel inside our house so that will have to come before the baby gets here.

Oh sorry, let me make you feel better...I was washing clothes for Layla when we got home from the hospital cause she had nothing to wear. Every day my mom was digging through Sophia's old stuff looking for something I needed because I had nothing out or ready. Oh, and I still haven't finished the thank you notes from my baby shower, which was almost 2 months ago. I'm the queen of slackers Blum 3

Oh - and in my defense - the nursery was painted and the crib/bedding bought before I even had Deacon or got pg with him. I was just doing it all in hopes of having a baby. So when all you guys were romping in the hay with your DHs I was doing our nursery. ROFL

LOL, I was totally kidding. I just went into the room to see what I could get done, and basically left thinking,"Ehh, this is easy. I can get this room put together in an hour." I'm just waiting for our last visitors to come. We got the room painted a few months ago, and that's the only really tough part.

Jenn, do you think the new baby would take over Deacon's spot in your room and Deacon would want to move into a big-kid room?

It'll get done! And sounds like baby will have a place to sleep for a while anyway. I don't remember when I had Lauren's room ready, definately not as soon as Alyssa's was! Still working on some decoative stuff for Lauren's room!

And Carrie it was about that long for me too before I got shower thank you's out! But I saved on a thank you b/c most people at my sprinkle also brought gifts to the hospital so I got to do 2 thank yous in one! And I put them in the birth announcement envelopes so saved a stamp, or hand delivered some to those who came to Lauren's baptism!

Ha - I know.

I have no idea. Justin wants to move Deacon to his own room but I can't see that happening. He thinks our room is his room. We may have to sleep in his room for a while to get him use to it. We have his train bed in there and a queen bed so there is enough room for all of us. Then we could eventually sneak out at night once he is asleep?! I really have no idea how this will work. LOL

He did so well with the paci, maybe you'd be surprised? IDK, good luck!

I have most of the baby announcement envelopes addressed now, that's making me feel WAY organized, lol.

This is too funny. It does sound like you have a lot to do. Get that dang bed out of there! Put it in your livingroom. Or outside on your patio. Biggrin Kidding... kind of.

Wow I can't believe how far along you are either! I guess pregnancies seem to go so fast when you're not the one pregnant.

It sounds like you are almost running a bed and breakfast with all the visitors you'll be having in the next few weeks LOL

I agree with everyone... it will get done in time and if it doesn't then it's great that you have a semi nursery set up in your bedroom.

Kristen...sounds like you are doing just fine! If nesting hits you too hard to handle it just get out your tissue, a list with a pen and as the house guests arrive give each one a little "job" to do between tears...no one in their right mind will say no. Coercion and manipulation is perfectly okay and strongly encouraged. LOL

Seriously though...it does all fall in place and I have moments where I feel bad b/c I have enjoyed Marcella so much more b/c I think she is my second and I am not nearly as wrapped around the axel.;)

LOL, you crack me up! The thing with me is that I think nesting has already come and passed. We'll see if I get the urge to clean again, but I'm kind of over it!

If MIL comes this weekend, I'll have no problem getting her to help. I love to push her around just a little bit Wink When my aunt is here, same thing. When my friends are here, I'm going to sit on my butt by the pool with them Smile

I totally feel like it's going to be so much less stressful this time. I'm not really going to care what he's wearing, not worrying about a schedule, I'm just going to try to enjoy the baby cuddle time while it lasts.
