QOTD Wednesday

What is one thing you did (or will do) to make your LO's birthday special this year. Any small detail you did for them or a fun thing to do - besides their party if they are having one.

We are going to put balloons in his room the morning of his bday. Stole that idea from some of you. Then that evening we are taking him to Chuck E Cheese with just the three of us to make it small and special. When we get home he will get to open the gifts from us. That way he has a daycare party, a mom and dad date night and then his party the next day.

I'm letting Noah choose what he wants for his birthday dinner, and he's taking Toy Story cupcakes that I'm making to daycare (I let him pick out what he wanted while we were browsing the Party City website). We're getting him a fish tank, so we're going to go to the pet store and let him pick out his own fish. That's about the extent of it.

For her BD I got her a cute little outfit to wear since she gets so many hand-me downs she likes getting something new. She has school so were bringing a special treat to share and then I'm taking the girls to Mcdonalds for lunch. We will do family presents and let her choose her dinner. Its a Fuzion night.. you ladies know how much I love Fuzion but I'm skipping it to stay home and celebrate lol

That weekend is her party with her little friends.

Not sure, I have to be a school on her bday in the morning for Emma's 2nd grade Thanksgiving feast, and my friend said she'd take Gabby out for breakfast, then after school maybe we will all go get something for dinner and have cake. Haven't thought about it actually.

We are having a Toy Story theme also. She is head over heels in love with Buzz. Smile

I'm not sure if we have special details. I guess we're doing a bunch of things.

Her party is this Sunday with everyone from her preschool class invited and a handful of her non-preschool neighborhood friends. On her actual birthday, we'll send her to preschool with homemade cookies (DH is making them). And, it's a total coincidence, but we're taking her to Yo Gabba Gabba Live the Sat after her birthday, since she loves YGG (and we don't even have cable, go figure). I'm sure we'll call it her bday treat.

One thing I'm thinking of doing is taking her out this Friday. I have it off for Veterans Day, and I've been thinking of doing an annual Aasha+Mommy day together on that day, since it's a few days before her bday. The only hang-up I have with that is that my ILs seem to come every year for her bday (and spend a month with us), so I don't know if they'll be put out that I'd take her out of preschool and go out with her on my own. I need to decide soon, though, if I want to do it!

(Sorry for the novel, lol).

On Lyla's birthday she got to start school and took cupcakes. Dh was at work, so it was just me, Lyla, and Cora. After dinner we sang Happy Birthday and she had a leftover cupcake with a candle on it. Sounds lame, but she could sing Happy Birthday and blow out a candle all day if I let her. I gave her a birthday present to open, her leappad. She was happy with it, and had already had her train party the weekend before.
