What was the best part of 2011 for you? What was the worst?
What are you looking forward to as part of 2012?

The best part of 2011 was having Layla, of course Smile She has been such a great baby and has really made this a fun year for me.

The worst part has been the last couple of months when Layla has been sick a lot and DH and I have had to miss a lot of work and both get flack and attitude from our bosses about it. I hate being reminded that my company (and most companies, sadly) would really rather not recognize that my FIRST JOB is as a mother. I wish I had more flexibility to take care of my sick children without having to feel guilty about missing work or scared of how it might affect my job or career. November and December were really hard and I would have given anything to have family nearby that could have helped us out. It's times like this that Dali and I look at each other and go "we're really on our own here" and that sucks.

DH and I had a really rough 2010 and were on the verge of divorce for a while. We managed to pull our marriage back together in 2011 and be happy as a family again. That was a big plus. I also managed to work out 4 days a week the entire year. I'm pretty happy about that. Overall this year has been pretty great for us. I don't think there are any down sides. Smile

Having Colby was the best part of 2011. He really completed our family and is such an adorable little dude. Starting my photography business has been a great part of the year for me too. Janet just moved into her house and my house is starting to get back to organized and it's nice to be just our family of four when we want it now too.

The worst part? Not really sure. I guess my cousin has had a really hard time the last part of this year and it has taken it's toll on the whole family as to what to do with her. We thought it was getting better, but it's not, so this year might be same old crap.

2012 is going to be awesome!! I can't wait until Colby starts walking and his first birthday. Jackson is getting more mature and awesome. My business is just kicking up and I possibly might go back to teaching one day a week next year with a new friend I've made in town.

This sounds all too familiar. I must have the same cousin as you. Except for us it's been going on for about 10 years now. Every year I pray it will be the year she gets her act together.

I forgot to answer the 3rd question! 2012 will be an interesting year because my DH is tentatively planning on quitting his job in June (ish) to finish the graduate degree he's currently working on. He also has two certifications to study for (and take the exams). So it will be a hard year in that he will be studying A LOT, and I will be feeling like a single mom a lot, but in the end I know it's for the good of our family. And it will be interesting from a financial perspective to work out living on my income for approximately 1 year, hopefully less. It would be easy if it weren't for the fact that we're paying for grad school at the same time, and his current company is paying for $4,000 a year of it so we will lose that as well.

I don't stress about it because I know that God will take care of us, He always has. I just kind of want this year to come and go so that I can see what's next in Dali's career (and if I will be able to work part time when Sophia starts real school)! But all the milestones of this year with Layla will be fun, like Kristen mentioned. I don't want to rush those Biggrin

What was the best part of 2011 for you? Getting pregnant and having it stick.

What was the worst? There were several things that weren't good: 2 of my great-uncles died, suddenly, jan 1 and then feb 1. They lived good lives, so that was good at least. My miscarriage in march. And, to round it off, my 6+ weeks of being sick lately. It's been difficult personally and professionally.

What are you looking forward to as part of 2012? Hmmm, I wonder what that is ... lol. Looking foward to meeting my new baby boy in April.

We had an interesting year. My broken ankle the disaster of the hurricane that we are still trying to recover from. DH and I are not getting any better and I hope this is the year that something will change from that.

I'm so glad that I am leaving 50 pounds behind in 2011! I am looking forward to loosing another 50 pounds in 2012. Emma will be receiving communion on May 5th and I will be 40 in October. It's going to be a great year!

What was the best part of 2011 for you? Being able to finally take my boys places without completely loosing my mind. They are still high energy but they're finally able to follow directions better so we get out to do lots more fun stuff.

What was the worst? Dealing with interstitial cystitis and coming to terms with the fact that it's probably not going to get much better. It's put a strain on my marriage because doing "it" is painful for me and what husband wants to hurt their wife like that.

What are you looking forward to as part of 2012? I got a sewing machine for Christmas and am really looking foreward to learning how to use it.

Best part of 2011? I don't know so many things happened this year. Maybe finally getting our ducks in a row so we could buy our own house? The birth of our granddaughter? Seeing Tiff graduate college? So many things!

The worst? Not really getting career satisfaction --not liking my job but not having other options. Sad

Looking forward to in 2012-- FINALLY (knock on wood) getting our keys to our new house!

Better late than never:

What was the best part of 2011 for you? Our little surprise pregnancy in April. That made the entire year great.

What was the worst? I can't really think of anything. I'd say the whole year was pretty great.

What are you looking forward to as part of 2012? Watching the kids grow up together.
