terrible 3's

isaac has been the sweetest 2yo ever. he's silly and kinda crazy and so.much.fun. lately though, as we are approaching 3 he has streaks where his attitude is awful! He was an early talker so his talking back doesn't really surprise me but he will literally throw himself and the floor and scream NONONONONO (which lands him in his room quickly). the boys fight over who gets what side of the car b/c we drive by a farm on the way home so someone gets tractors out their window. When he doesn't get the tractor side he will scream and fight me getting in his carseat, it's rather embarassing when he does it as we are leaving pre-school. ugh 3 was rough with our oldest too and i'm finding myself just wanting to hang on to the sweetness we had during our 2nd year.

how are all our other nestlings as we approach 3?

Deacon definitely has become much more stubborn and independent in the last 6 months or so. He can ignore me better than anyone else.

But he doesn't throw too many fits lately, it was bad for a while but has gotten better.

I don't want to jinx myself, but Miles hasn't been too bad. Every now and then he'll throw a little fit, but it's pretty short lived. It usually happens when we're leaving some place fun...like, the toy aisle at Target. Thankfully I can avoid bringing him with me if I want to, and he's easily distracted so the fits don't last too long.

2 was a challenging year for Jude. Not awful or anything...just challenging. I already think 3 is going to be even worse. He's so stubborn and is definitely wanting independence. So yeah - we're right there with ya!

My older two were horrible at 3 and easier at 2. Gabby has been insane at 2. I have seen how much she has grown over the past few weeks and I can see her growing up, her vocabulary has exploded and her memory is CRAZY. Although, we have been battling the "I do it's" and her tantrums. Her reasoning is still off and it is a challenge. We had 5, yes I said 5, tantrums in Target in only 45 minutes. I refused to give in to her and we moved forward, thankfully. She has to learn now cause my patience are shot and the challenges I have right now with my older two are about all I can handle.

This is totally us. Alyssa is VERY independent. Its been a bit of a tough year but I don't think 3 will be better. Hopefully not worse. I think some of it is my patience level is some of it too.

If you need a good laugh,

I was googling are the threes worse than the twos, and came across it Smile About a month ago, we started dealing with terrible tantrums (at home thank goodness). This was after a pretty easy year. Thank goodness they've gone away, but I was scared. I love the part where it says the threes are the twos, with intent.

That blog post is funny! And I have to say that I've experienced pretty much every thing on that list, which makes me think we're hitting the threes early. Yay!

Jack has been really hard lately with his tantrums, mostly at home. If he doesn't get what he wants when he wants he'll have a meltdown, he's constantly looking for some specific toy car, his certain helicopter and will harp on it until he {or one of us) finds it. He's also trying to get out of bedtime now by saying he's hungry lol, he tried that one at 1:30 in the morning the other night. But, yeah the three's are certainly gonna be harder than the two's I think!

The two's for us weren't that bad. He did have his moments, but all-in-all I don't think it was too bad. We only had about a two week run of tantrums that were bad, but that was it. Lately, he is very independent, but not in a bad way and he's become such a love bug! Smile I hope this continues.

I've been pretty lucky. Ava is easy going. She always askes me, "Momma? Are you happy?" When I go to work DH says when he checks on her in her room after bedtime, she tell him, "I'm praticing my ABC's! Mommy's gonna be so proud of me!" She's seriously just out to please. We've had our share of tantrums, but she comes out of them pretty easy.

Andrew, on the other hand....he's gonna be my challange.

Sawyer is the same way....he's been a good little two year old but now that we're approaching his 3rd birthday he's become quiet the little stinker. He has one hell of a temper...man oh man does he ever. He test DH more so than me b/c I don't mess around...LOL If you get onto him for something he'll sometimes SCREAM back at you & yes he's done this to me out in public  soo embarassing!!!! Will went through this as well at 3 instead of 2 but you just have to know which battles to fight with them & let the rest go. That's my problem....I never know which battle I need to fight.....hahahaha!!!!
