How was your camping trip? I cannot imagine doing that without electricity, and with LOs. I'm such a wimp.

I'm sure I'm the wimpiest here. I've never camped, never ever ever. I can get up at an insanely early time, go hiking all day, and return late at night - to my bed.

We do this every year, so I'm getting use to it. We even went last year when Cora was little. I will only camp at this place for Memorial Day weekend, since it is normally not too hot. I forgot to mention that on top of no electricity or running water, you cannot have alcohol or go swimming.

We did take out our big 5th wheel trailer, so we have comfortable beds. The first night was horrible. Both girls were exhausted and Cora was so deliriously tired that she was hyper, and climbing and jumping off things until midnight. When I shut off the lights (battery powered), the bugs went straight for Lyla's leap pad screen, and she freaked. We finally put them in the van and drove until they fell asleep. Both kids continued to wake up all through the night. We stayed from Friday to Monday. I just couldn't handle no shower, so one night I brought the girls home got us cleaned up and a good nights rest.

Lyla really surprised me and loved all the animals. She found 2 turtles, a water snake, frog, caught fish, played with the worms. She really wanted to bring the turtles and a frog home.

Hmm, that sounded challenging. Glad you were close enough that you could get home for a bit, to refresh.

I love how the LOs have fun with animals, before they get scared of them (or at least, most girls do). Aasha's class has a big box of silkworms that they are observing and learning about. Aasha says that they get to pick up the worms and play with them - basically let them crawl in their hands. I'm like "Great! That's cool! Bugs and worms are awesome!" and then I turn away from her with an ugh expression on my face.
