who's doing what fun this weekend?
Nothing really fun planned here --I need some R&R! Tomorrow (Sat) we have Zayden's swim lessons and Sunday we are going to try the new church in our new parish. I have been very lax at taking Z to church and lent seems like a good time to reform that!
I have some reading and stuff I need to do this weekend for work but other than that I need/want to relax and get some sleep!
Tomorrow we're going to a baby shower for my BIL/SIL. It's a big affair--men, women, children are all invited and for us, it's a 3.5 hour drive one way. We're going down and back in ONE DAY. In the same car with my MIL and FIL and 13 yo niece I can't stand. I'll be reading a book and letting Noah watch movies so that I don't have to interact with anyone. Sunday is the Daytona 500, church, bible study group, laundry, groceries and cleaning. Monday I have to pick up my newly fixed car and take Noah to the eye doctor.
DH comes home! *maybe* I'm hoping It has been SUPER windy in Northern CA and there hasn't been much rain this winter, so there are a TON of fires. I'm not sure where he is at the moment and hopefully he'll come home. If not, he's bound to come home sometime soon and he has the whole next week off before he goes to an academy the following week for a month. We're going to go to the zoo, a bunch of day trips, eat out a bunch, and do every day things
Not too much. Errands on Saturday, then just hanging out. Sundays, we go grocery shopping. Then Sunday evening, Josh is going to Chuck E. Cheese for a birthday party. I am excited to take him, it will be his first time there and I know he will have a blast.
Tomorrow morning we are going to the Home and Garden show to try to get some ideas for our yard for the spring. Then in the afternoon we are going to Jen's neice's birthday party. In the evening we are meeting with the people who are leasing our other house to sign the lease agreement. Busy day! Sunday is church and then I'm taking Sophia and a couple of other kids to see The Secret World of Arrietti
Nothing fun planned here. My brother is coming tomorrow to "appraise" our house for his school project. I think my parents are coming over at some point to see the kids.
Enjoying my last break for a week. Uuug! I seriously think I'm going to go nuts this week. Cora is sleeping, dh and Lyla are at swim class. Looks like we have one more day of roofing. We are headed to the in laws and will celebrate mil's birthday, and watch some basketball (I will probably go shopping since it's a bigger town). Sunday early am dh will drive on to the airport, and I will drive home. Yes, that means it's me in the car for 3 hours with both kids. It happens a lot, but I always dread it. I'm getting pretty good at making bottles, tossing binkies, and toys while driving.
I really shouldn't be complaining, since Kristen has a month without her dh. I really don't know how you do it.
Haha, you just get used to it. I think I get bored easily, so I keep busy and it doesn't really bother me. I have lots of help too, my mom comes over in the mornings when Jackson gets up at the crack of dawn and lets me sleep in an extra hour or so. I don't know if I could handle it without that extra sleep
We've all been sick all weekend! Ugh! I'm ready to be done with this! Before it hit me on fri I did go and get my hair done (cut and color). Lauren ended up with pink eye and an eye infection. Pretty sure DH had influenza. The rest of us had a flu shot it didn't hit us too bad. I've got a nasty head cold and cough. Alyssa has had a runny nose and a bit of a cough too.
Hopefully we're all better by tomorrow to head back to work and daycare!
AMY, how was the new church?
I really liked it! Funny part --the family service is at 9:30 and I am VERY lucky that DH usually gets up with Zayden and lets me sleep in on the weekends. I woke up at 9:08 and was like MAN --now I don't have time to get ready....went downstairs --dh thought the service was at 11 or something. Anyway, I said well I still want to go so got ready in 5 min and DH got Z ready and me and Z went. I am wandering around this huge place and asked one mom I saw where the kids program was...I knew from online they had a "daycare" for 1-3 yos and more of a Sunday school for 4-6 -- she told me to go to the end of the hall and there it was. The teacher showed up sorta late and there was a huge line but I realized most of the kids were bigger than Z. I asked the teacher and she said that was the 4-6 yos -when I told her Z was three she said no problem, close enough.
Of course of all times, she lets him into the bigger kids class, Z decided to act like a baby, crawl on the floor and hide behind me. Mommy don't leave me! LOL oh well, got him seated and took off.
Loved the church and service -- I was really late after monkeying around with Z for awhile -- so I just stood in the back. I saw lots of families and lots of kids which is awesome! The church we used to go to where Tiff kinda grew up was much more older adults --some families but not many. This was 95% young people and families so I really think it will be a good fit for us.
When I picked Z up, the teacher said he did great but was just really shy the whole time. Hmmm...totally NOT my kid. I will try that again next week and maybe have more of a chance to warm Z up to it so its not such a shock to him. If that doesn't work, I'll wander around and find the little kids room. I would rather Z do more the Sunday school sorta thing though and I know he will do better with the bigger kids instead of little kids.
Oh, and for more weekend chatter! LOL After church, we got Z's hair cut (SOB) which to most of you is not an issue but this was only Zayden's third haircut ever. BUT........... pretty much he'd spent the entire weekend being called a girl so it was time. The new place we tried near our house is awesome (also a kid only place --did I mention I love living in an area which is a huge family area?) and the guy that did his hair was 100% supportive of us leaving it longer and totally got exactly what we wanted!
I don't have after shots yet -- I will get them tonight I hope -- but here is the before!
I promise I will add an after shot by tomorrow!
