Whats everyone up to this weekend?
We are headed down to Florida very early tomorrow morning for a funeral. DH's grandmother passed away last week after suffering a stroke and being in a coma for 10 days. After that we are staying a few extra days in Saint Petersburg at the beach and coming home in the early afternoon on the 4th.
The 4th is HUGE here. The carnival starts today, so we'll go at some point during the weekend, not sure when yet.
Later today my parents are coming to watch the kids while we go out to dinner.
Tomorrow I hope to put my house back together. It's a disaster. We've had lots of playdates, beach days, etc this week.
Not sure what we're doing Sunday, maybe the carnival.
Wait, Ashley, you live near the beach? I don't know how I never clued in on that before. What state are you in again?
TO STAY INSIDE! It's 114 degrees here at the moment and this heat wave is expected to continue through Thursday next week. Ugh! Not good when I'm 6 months pregnant AND have a 3.5 year old.
Greg and I are going shopping for baby stuff tomorrow morning (my Mom is coming over to hang with Josh). We are going to register and pick out/buy furniture. The first step to getting prepared for this LO. I really haven't done a thing yet.
Well today is "International Mud Day" so we are meeting a several families down at the beach. Someone is bringing dirt and the kids will play in the mud. Tomorrow DH wants to go to the County Fair -- Uggg I hate it, its crowded and loud and expensive and annoying but apparently just SO much fun for Z. We will see though, I sprained my ankle two weeks ago and today my wrist so don't know if I will be up to it. Sunday? No idea, we were going to do a hike but that isn't going to happen with my ankle.
Amy, geesh! How did you sprain your ankle? And your wrist? Hope they both heal quickly.
LOL. I live in Minnesota - the Land of 10,000 lakes. We have beaches all over here!
Okay I guess I never knew where you were from. In my mind it was some midwestern state like Iowa or something. LOL (and I have no idea where I even got that idea from!)
We got so much accomplished on Saturday. We made our baby registry, ordered the nursery furniture and purchased a rocker recliner (which will be delivered tomorrow - so excited). Now I just need to finish cleaning out that room, paint and shampoo the carpet and we'll be well on our way.
Good job, Dawn!
I had a fairly productive weekend too. It rained most of the weekend so we were stuck inside, so I hung all the stuff up on Sophia's walls (we've been in this house 9 months and I had not yet hung anything on her walls!) and re-arranged our bedroom. I love the new arrangement so much better that I don't know what I was thinking the way I had it before! So while I was doing all that, the girls tore the upstairs to shreds, so I spent the rest of the time cleaning up their huge mess. That's the price you pay to get something done I guess.
Dawn -- fun!!! Are you doing a theme in the room or anything? Girl stuff is so fun.
Carrie, do the girls have their own rooms?
I had a very lazy weekend. I guess it didn't help that the kids and I were locked out of the house for half the day on Sunday, lol. That's my excuse for not getting anything done.
Ashley, how did you get locked out of the house? That sucks, did you go somewhere or were you just stuck outside? And everyone is entitled to a lazy weekend once in a while
Yes, the girls have their own rooms. When Layla moves out of her crib I'd like to put bunkbeds in Sophia's room so they can sleep together and make Layla's current room into a playroom. I think it would be fun for them to share a room while they are young, before they each need (and want) their own space. And I talked to Sophia about it (since we don't need to do it for space reasons, I wanted to make sure she liked the idea) and she was SO excited about the prospect of Layla sleeping in her room. I hope she can wait another year or so!
Carrie, that sounds fun! I miss having a playroom!
I had locked the door that goes into the garage from the house. I had just put Vivi down for a nap and I didn't want dh and his friend coming in that door (because it's right by V's room) and waking her up. Later the kids and I went to my parents and when we got home I realized I had forgotten to unlock it. For some dumb reason I don't have a house key on my key ring. We have 2 hidden outside but 1 I need a ladder to get to, and the ladder didn't seem safe so I wasn't going that route, and the other I had no idea where it was?!?! I tried calling dh to ask him, but he was tubing down the river with a bunch of others and none of them had service on their phones so I couldn't get a hold of him. We ended up going up to my inlaw's and hanging out up there because it was about 90* outside.
I don't have a theme, just girlie stuff. I'm painting the walls grey and the furniture is white, trim, doors and carpet are all white, so I'll accent with lots of pink and maybe a little lime green. I'm not getting a nursery set or anything (I think they are a waste of money) so I'm just putting stuff together as I find it.
BRU just called to let us know that our furniture was in and ready.....YIKES! The room is not even close to being ready for furniture. We need to get to work!
Carrie - I think it would be fun for the girls to share right now.
Dawn, how exciting the furniture is in!! A friend of mine has a gray, white, and yellow nursery!
We are down in Kansas visiting my dad. He works on the wind turbines so is down here for work. Friday we went swimming and relaxed, yesterday my mom and I and the girls went outlet shopping and to see Brave. Cute movie. Today after lunch we are headed to the Children's museum to meet Tisha, Lyla and Coraline! Then we are headed home tomorrow morning.
