am i the only one

who doesn't want to go early? we have alot of gals on here who are trying to get their babies out at 37/38 weeks (not jenni obvs, she's being induced) and i keep thinking, "no thanks!"

our babies are going to come when they want to come. if they aren't ready, then i say let them bake. don't get me wrong, i'm uncomfortable and cranky and chasing a 2 year old has been pretty much a nightmare but i'd rather let this baby bake. i already had my 38 weeker, i think i'd prefer a full term bigger baby. looking at pics of my itty bitty babe when he was first born, i'm freaking out!

i'd stay pregnant for 3 more months if they could come out as 12 week old babies! lol! i'm so dreading the newborn stage. hopefully this one will be easier...

I wanted to have this baby well before or after Halloween, my due date. Just thought it would not be as fun to have a birthday on or near a holiday, even if it is my favorite holiday.

Otherwise I am ok with waiting, although I have a fear of getting another 4th degree tear so in a way I would like the baby to come before its head gets any bigger, lol!

Yeah, I am so much bigger this time & I am totally afraid of her being too big & me having to have a c-section. I guess a lot of people still give birth to big babies vaginally though, so maybe I shouldn't stress about it.
I still have so much to do to get ready that it would probably be a good thing if she stayed put for the whole 5 weeks left though!

I've got you all beat! We're due Nov 1, at 38 wks 4 days today & yeah I am not in any hurry :). I think this baby will come right around due date, I'm seeing no signs yet. Dr said Thursday I was not dilated at all. I still have to do a bunch of house cleaning, pack hospital bags & all. I'm wondering if this baby will even be late. I've just been off work this week though, which has helped me relax and mentally prepare somewhat for L&D and this baby to come. I know this is a big change from my previous attitude!

The last few weeks are so uncomfortable yet so important for lung development. I truly wish I had 2 more weeks to give my baby. I hope all of you keep baking those babies and deliver without complications.

I agree but for me, the bigger the baby the bigger the risk of complications. If it gets too serious I could die, so I want her out now!! The longer I wait the higher the risk. If I didn't have an enzyme problem
I'd wait it out to forty two weeks if I had to.

I don't necessarily want him to come early, but anytime after 39 weeks is OK with me. I went 10 days overdue last time and it was TERRIBLE! I was so uncomfortable. Eli was 9 lbs 7 oz by the time he came out, and I am not a big lady! I don't want this one to bake for too long, since I don't know how much bigger I could handle.

I know baby only comes when he wants though! I'm just hoping for 39-41 weeks.

I would be totally fine any time after 38 weeks personally. At 40 w 3 d Evan was 9lb 5oz I have no doubt if I have a 38 weeker he'll be a solid 7-8 lbs. I've had enough of being pregnant and I'll be happy to have my body back (minus the nursing I suppose but at least I can tie my shoes haha). I also REALLLLLLLLY don't want to spend Thanksiving in the hospital. So if he's no coming by the 21-22nd I hope he comes the 25th LOL

And FWIW I had a fairly easy newborn and I'm still not really looking forward to that phase. There are wonderful aspects, a tiny baby that sleeps in your arms etc but I like chasing a nearly 2 year old who talks to me better Smile

I don't want to go early, even though I'm in terrible pain... only because I'd rather get through Thanksgiving without a new baby and a hospital stay! Anytime after that holiday I'm good to go (I'll be in my 39th week by then anyway!). Plus, I can only take a month off, and I would like to be off the entire month of December, not having to take off anytime in November, as I would have to come back to work sooner if that were the case! But unlike Nancy, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the newborn stage (with the exception of never sleeping lol), with their smell, how teeny tiny they are... it's my favorite.

I am ready, but I know little baby T isn't at this point. I am only 35 weeks, and know she needs to stay put for another couple of weeks. I am pretty sure I'll go till the date of my c/s, and I'll be in the hospital on Thanksgiving (they said I could go home on Wednesday, but I don't think I'll be ready)...which that will stink, I'll have to depend on dh to bring me yummy food and such, but whatever.

I am ready. I am worried about this baby being big, so I don't want to be overdue!!!

I am ready now. It will be hard to keep up the house and laundry and groceries being this big... Everything is ready now, so Mr. Baby could come. But of course he won't!! Biggrin
I also love the newborn stage. I think it is overwhelming when it's your first, but with subsequent kids you are more confident and can enjoy it more.

thank you for reminding me of this. little guy's my second baby and i'm hoping and praying that i will be more relaxed with him than i was with my first. thomas was such a hard newborn - colic, severe reflux, major bf'ing issues, etc etc. i just hope this one is a little easier. but, knowing that the tough stuff doesn't last forever is a good thing to know going in!!
