My mind is mush, and I avoided this birth group for a long time as my pregnancy was up-and-down, so maybe this has been well-talked about already.
Anyone hand-making anything for baby? Like blankets, booties, clothing, books, etc?
I'm a relatively crafty person and make baby shoes. They are sewn with soles -- somehow I have never knitted or crocheted in my life! My son had a few kimono-style shoes as a baby and some other types of shoes that were "boyish"...having a girl opens new windows for me here! Mary Janes, tall plaid boots, even peep-toe sandals are on the drawing board in the next few months!
I was trying to get some new ideas of things to make for baby. Making things is a cool way to "bond" with baby before birth!
I thought about making a fabric book with embroidered words, but I'm terrible with embroidery and don't have a machine that does it for me. Sharpie laundry marker? LOL
I've also considered making baby headbands. The basic elastic lace ones ones are SO easy. Literally, 10 cents a piece, not including needle and thread, 3 minutes of your time. And you can use felt, hot glue and a flower to jazz it up if you want a flower headband. I was thinking of making really extravagant baby fascinators, mainly for photography props. It doesn't seem complicated. Here is a pic of what I'm talking about: http://www.etsy.com/listing/66087765/lyla-rose-vintage-luxe-headband-tutorial?ref=pr_shop
The second picture down....oh my gosh....is that not the most adorable baby in the world?? (Except for your own, of course )
Any other ideas?
