Baby dropped-in lots of pain

I woke up this morning and felt awful...my back was killing me, belly really sore, crotch and inner thighs achy. I could barely get out of bed. And I slept better than I had in some time. I started to think about it as the day went on, and looked at my belly, yeah I dropped. Had my doc appt he said OH YES baby is very low, I was in such shock I did not ask what station he was at. I can barely walk at times it is so bad. I have been having more braxtons hicks too. Nothing consistent. I am still totally freaked out. At least everything is ready.

Baby time is coming soon! The discomfort sucks, for sure. There are times when my LO feels like his head will fall out and other times when I can walk pretty comfortably. Here's hoping these last few weeks will fly by.

I hear ya! The exact same thing happened to me too. You nailed it on the head. I'm glad I'm not the only one...

Sorry to hear that. Sad I am having the opposite problem; extreme pain in the ribs where this baby likes to hang out. I am hoping my LO drops soon so I can get a bit of relief!

I think this baby dropped a bit when I slipped on Jack's stupid toy last week. I haven't had heartburn in a while, but after I get up from sitting, I am most definitely in a waddle rather than walk!

Yay for dropping (besides your pain of course)!! The end is finally in sight!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Trystan won't drop until right before it's time for him to come. I'm wondering if every woman is just different with the "dropping," because I was reading that first babies can drop as early as 8 weeks before your EDD, but with subsequent pregnancies they typically don't drop until right before you deliver (1-2 weeks)? Anyone have any thoughts on this (sorry, don't mean to hijack the thread)??

Sorry about the pain. I don't even remember DD dropping at all. I'm also hoping that this guy only drops when he's ready and not too soon.

It is definitely true! You are correct. However, there is of course loads of variation to the "rule". I heard of one gal who dropped 14 weeks in advance with her first baby.

DS dropped a week or two before he was born and it wasn't this painful. I think it is different with every person and pregnancy. Doc said that baby dropping can mean nothing and your body is just preparing or it can mean labor is soon. But I have no other signs, like consistent contractions. I did have a very small amount of spotting yesterday. He did not want to do an cervical check and "stir" anything up. He did say it was a little early for little man to come out, so hopefully he stays put for another couple weeks! My back is better today, but my crotch is worse OUCH!!!!!!

It can be something or nothing...ugh, isn't that just the worst part? I wish there was a surefire sign of when a baby would be born before active labor started!

YES...I hate waiting and uncertainty!!! WIth DS I woke up one day with fluid running down my leg with some blood. Went to L&D and nothing, only dilated a cm. Had some lower back pain and weak contractions overnight, I could walk and talk through them. Went to doc at 1pm and I was 80% and 3cm!!! I was in shock becasue the contractions were not that painful! 10cm by 9pm and DS was born at 1128pm.
