Came out on facebook today

So the world now knows we are pregnant. It feels so weird that I am at a stage that I can start sharing with everyone. It was great to see how happy so many people were for us. Alot were shocked - I think everyone thought with the hard PG I had in 2004 that we would not go down this road again. They did not know about the 4 m/c over the last 2 years. But everyone was so happy. Feels great to celebrate!! Anyone else come out to the world???

I am so glad that everyone has been happy for you Smile

We plan to announce on FB later on this evening once we have let the rest of the family know.

I have not came out yet LOL...I'm waiting a few more weeks. Now that I am used to the pregnancy it is easier to keep it a secret..kinda fun...I'm ready to tell people sometimes Not sure when I will tell work yet is like to wait til I'm like 16 weeks but I think I will start showing soon...

I didn't really "announce" on facebook...I just changed my profile pic to one of my 11 week belly shots...Everyone has figured it out though Wink

I'm glad you had good responses Melanie!

I haven't decided yet. With my first, outside our family, who lived at least 6 hrs away, we didn't tell anyone until the baby shower! I guess people just thought I was getting really fat!. No one ever approached me or anything?

Second time I out a picture of #1 wearing a big sister picture up, maybe around the end of the first tri? Now Ican't decide, I sort of like no one knowing.

Also so far people haven't been 100% supportive of us, namely my ils. They offered no congratulations or anything. My mil laughed and said, "Good luck with that!" My fil didn't say anything at all. they act as if we are having way too many kids. MIL thinks one is plenty and no one should have more than that. But at least FIL gf seemed genuinely happy for us. SHe is the only one who ever supports our decisions. She is always telling the ILs to let us live our life to be happy, not live our lives to make ILs happy.

i have terrible ILs too and i say poo on them for not being supportive! just come back to us and we'll give you support! Smile

i haven't "come out" yet either on facebook. my best friends know (i'd say maybe 5 girlfriends - and you KNOW they probably blabbed, hehe) and now my family knows. our ILs don't know yet because they are certifiably crazy and they will start spewing some nonsense about how we shouldn't go to hawaii because of the radiation from japan or something. so we'll wait til we're back. if it were up to me i'd just send them a card after the baby was born - but that's a whoooooole other story!!

i was outted when i was pg with thomas on facebook before i got a chance to announce and some of my friends were NOT happy about it. we announced to my family on christmas eve and then i planned to tell friends. but before that could happen one of my aunts called my cousin who was living in SC at the time and my cousin posted a big congrats on my wall. so then of course everyone was like, "whaaaa??" Smile

jen, i like that you changed your profile pic - no questioning that one!!

melanie - what did your announcement say?? Smile

I have a funny Facebook story. Last Thursday I changed my profile pic to a little oven with a bun in it. No responses. Then I typed the years my kids were born ( 03 06 09 & new 11), nothing. Then I posted a pic of a rabbit with "The proverbial rabbit has gone to heaven". Still nothing, lol!!! Finally, four days later, I posted a picture of my family with the comment "All six of us enjoying the sunshine." Finally someone caught on!! But only 3 people so far. Going to make a blunt announcement sometime soon, but my family and I have been enjoying the 'game'.

We announced on Friday on Facebook Smile I changed my profile pic to an U/S pic, and then put this as my status:

♫♪ Said Sandra Leigh to her Facebook friends, “Do you see what I see?” (Do you see what I see?) “In my profile picture, Facebook friends...Do you see what I see?” (Do you see what I see?) “A child, a child, growing inside me, how exciting November will be! How exciting November will be!” ♫♪

LOL Biggrin

I totally accidentally said something at dinner with my family and they jumped on it like rabid dogs LOL I said something about "this time" in reference to labor and boom they were ON it LOL I wasn't going to lie so now my mom, aunt, cousin, sister and cousin know. But no one else. I won't tell the general public until I tell work and I will probably tell work after I get an all good at my 14 week apt. That will be 2nd trimester, if everything looks good then I'll tell work. Once I tell work I can tell anyone Smile I'm not much for big announcements though so it will only hit FB if someone else posts it. It actually worked out well with my family b/c they'd find "big brother" t shirts cheesy. They just aren't that kind LOL So this way worked just fine for us.
