Cervical check, schoolbus ride & hay ride....

...equals lost mucous plug and contractions for good 5 hours. But I know better than going in b/c I usually dialate really slowly ( I was only at 1 cm at the check up on Wednesday).
The mucous plug however has me thinking that maybe? Especially b/c the contrax are getting a little stronger. If I last until midnight ( at what time I have to pick DH up from work as his truck broke) then I will think about going in to get checked, just so I know.
I hate not knowing.

I am a little sad b/c the house isn't as clean as I would like it to be, but hey....I was so ready a week ago! Murphy's law.

Sounds promising! Someone needs to have a baby. I feel like the babies are messing with us! I can't wait to hear what happens when you get checked.

I'm so excited for you, Asha!

I empathize - not knowing is the hardest part. Ugh, I hate it.

also, sounds like our board is having success with these hayrides. Hmm...

So I waited till midnight to pick up DH. I took a shower, got ready, etc... had more bloody discharge. We came home and I told him to take a shower while I sleep.
I slept until about 2 AM when the contractions increased and were about 3 minutes apart.
We then told our oldest that I am going to get checked, also wrote them a note and left.
I got hooked up and the contractions were steady coming every 2 to 4 minutes. Nicholas was "handling them well". I was 1 when I got in and after an hour I was 1.5 to2 cm. The resident basically asked me if I wanted to stay and get monitored longer or go home. She gave me this option based on my "history". I thought about it and decided to go home. I know that it takes me a very long time to dilate and that I would be stuck in there for a long time. Also the reason I went in was to check if the contractions aren't affecting the baby in a bad way ( as in decelerating heartbeat or such).
So we came back home and I am still contracting, same intensity ( I would say the pain level is 4 out of 10). I rested and now I'm trying to clean up a little and also I might as well do the grocery shopping for the week Wink
It's not fun being in pain like this, but it's better to be at home than being at the hospital "not making a lot of progress"
So sorry if this sounded like a tease- I feel that I am in labor but just really slowly progressing. I wouldn't necessarily recommend preschool fieldtrips to farms and hayrides as a natural induction method, believe me- it was more like a torture...
Oh a funny thing too- the farm we were at, had a cat. All of us moms were sitting at a picnic bench waiting for our kids to finish an activity. The cat walks to me, jumps on my lap, circles around and sits down. I was totally weirded out especially b/c I was already having contrax, but didn't tell anyone . I let the cat sit on my lap for a while but then took him off as he wasn't too clean and i am not the biggest fan of stranger cats, but I thought this was so weird...

Thanks for updating us. You might have your baby very soon! Yahoo

I totally believe it about that cat. Animals can sense things. My dog acted goofy before I found out I was pregnant and now she's started being weird again. I think she knows something is up. You're a lot nicer than me for letting it sit on your lap!

Asha! Stalking you here. Soon, my friend, you will be holding your precious number 10! Thinking of you, can't wait to hear your news. Also, totally jealous since we are one day apart and I know that, with my history, I will be waiting at least 3 more weeks... Good luck!!!

Hoping for more progress for you and with less discomfort! At least you know your body and have such a clear head over this, so you can get a few things handled while you slowly progress. Seems like it'd be a bit frustrating for you, like watching ice melt!

I keep on having those contractions, I did as much house cleaning and shopping as I could, but today I woke up pretty swollen ( legs, hands) . So I really rested today. Also, lots of ( sorry gross) bloody mucous coming out... I have an appointment on Wednesday to see what's up. Unless something happens.

Thanks for the update! I'm really starting to get excited about all of the goings on!! I was going to ask you though, do you find that you start having labor signs earlier with each child? I'm only wondering, as this is my fourth, and I'm in a lot more pain earlier with this baby than I was with my others...

I would have to say that the pains and contractions start earlier , but they are less effective.
For example with my second child and third, contractions meant hours away from baby. Now, contractions mean days or a week away from pushing Sad
Even with pitocin, my last few labors were long and stalling.
