Come chat with me...

Cause I'm bored. Biggrin

Just doing some house cleaning today. I haven't left the house much in the past 2 weeks and I'm feeling a bit cooped up, but DH has been working out of the office at a clients and he needs the car to get there (he normally walks to work).

I feel like doing some baking today but I don't have the ingredients I need Sad

My throat is getting progressively more sore every day. Blah. My kids were sick last week so it was only a matter of time.

What is everyone up to this fine Wednesday?

Watching tinkerbell and the lost treasure for the thousandth time! Thanks to the movie Melodie is walking around to everyone saying, I need something sharp!

Were heading out for lunch and The Muppets. Dh forgot my birthday (and not in a he's lying to surprise me kind of way) he's actually going from work out with hid friends. It sucks.

I won't let it ruin my day though!!

Ugh, I've had birthdays like that. Sitting around by myself at home at night, wondering who will remember.....

Muppets sounds fun!

I am NOT a bday person so I have a habit of forgetting everyones. I just don't think of them as a big deal. Bad I know. I do remember to get DH something btu I tend to give it to him early then forget on the actual day. Oh well he knows I love him, I don't care if people forget my bday....

I'm at work. I'm due tomorrow but since he doesn't seem inclined to arrive I figured I might as well get my last work day in. I won't go in next week. I just can't do it lol But I'm wrapping up a lot today leaving notes etc etc and I'll check e-mail all through leave. The joys of a busy job!

Sandra, have you tried hot tea with honey for your throat? That always helps mine feel better.

Carrie, sorry your DH forgot your birthday. Men are such boneheads sometimes! Happy birthday! I hope you have a good, fun day with your girls.

I'm just sitting here on the edge of exhaustion. Carter was 4 weeks old yesterday...so this makes 2 weeks that he has been waking to eat every 2 hours. I feel like I might lose my mind. I got him to sleep about 30 minutes ago but my stupid dog outside started barking and now he's up again! He is half asleep which is aggravating because I can't put him down yet or he'll wake up and start crying. A friend of mine is coming over in a few to watch him so I can take a nap. Any time someone volunteers to watch him so I can sleep I take them up on it.

I'm glad you'll get a nap in Jenni! That every 2 hour thing SUCKS. DD was like that, but DS would go for longer.

I can't believe you've made it to your due date still working Katie! You go girl!

I sent my kids outside to play in the snow just now. It's actually really nice out today instead of frigid so they'll be happy out there for a while.

Some tea and honey sounds good right about now Jenni! I think I'll go make some.

Carrie...HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! I am glad that you are still having a celebration with the kids!

Sandra...I am so sorry you are getting sick and are stuck at home. I really hope you get better before you little guy arrives. I am getting more and more excited for you!

Jenny....those 2 hour feeds are so hard. Lily slept for almost 4 hours last night and I feel like a new person...I hope you get some rest soon!

Dang, Sandra. 41 weeks! Sorry 2

I'm up and waiting for the rest of the world to be as hungry as me. I want to bust out of this house and go out to breakfast. I feel like if my water is going to break it will be in a humiliating way so I might as well set myself up for it by getting out of here.

Get out for a yummy breakfast for sure! You sure are good at baking twins! As good as I am at baking singletons!

DH was nice and stopped at home for lunch and brought me a sub sandwich. Biggrin Then he played with the kids for a few minutes before heading back to work. They really miss him with all the time he spends at work. He is trying to get lots done before Friday so he's gone all day - yesterday he was gone from 7:30 am to 11:30 pm.

The kids will be so excited when his leave starts! He is taking a whole month off starting December 12th, not back at work until January 9th.

still pregnant here too. friday's my due date. wonder if i will make it til then. i sure hope so. i'm so close to turkey i can taste it!

i'm having some drama over here with my babysitter. my friend danielle has used this girl here and there. danielle's kids are older and the babysitter claudia comes to play with them and hang out but not on a regular basis.

DH and i decided it would be in everyone's best interest (meaning, i won't kill him) to hire a mother's helper to come a few days a week and help me with thomas and the new baby once he comes. i decided to ask claudia. she's 16 and very good with thomas. we nailed down that she would come here tues, wed, and thurs after school until DH got home. she started last week so thomas would get used to her. she's been great. but now danielle keeps asking her to come watch HER kids even though she knows what days i have her. she texted me today saying claudia is watching her kids today so she can help her mom with thanksgiving. i asked claudia if she was still coming to MY house and she was like, 'yes of course i'll be there at 2' i told danielle that claudia is with me today. told her i'm sorry to come off rude but i've hired her for set days and that's it. she told me that if she had known that claudia wouldn't be available when she needed her then she wouldn't have recommended her.

um, what?? so claudia is supposed to sit around and wait for danielle to MAYBE call her instead of getting a steady $90/week from me?? i'm so frustrated i don't know how to deal with this. danielle's kids are so spoiled and don't like that claudia is "playing with thomas" instead of with them.

grrrrr! i feel like texting her back and telling her that i'm way too pregnant to deal with this. but i'm too pissed to even say anything.

sorry for the hijack, needed to vent. i'm just way too pregnant to deal with this! ha!

Woah, that's just ridiculous! And talk about putting a 16 year old in a tough spot! Poor girl. Of course it's way better for her to help you on a regular basis rather than be "on call" for your friend. If she's a smart, confident girl, she should be able to say to Danielle, "Sorry, but babysitting is like my "business", and it's a better business opportunity for me to watch Thomas!" You ARE way too pregnant to deal with this crap! Yeesh.

My SIL and her baby Harper got out of the hospital yesterday! MIL took DD after preschool to go meet her. MIL had DD for the whole evening. Tonight MIL is going to take DS on his own "outing with Grandma"! It will be great for him, he needs to get out of the house!

Almost time to put DS down for his nap......hoping DD will let me have a rest too!

Sorry about the babysitter situation Nancy. It's so hard to find a good babysitter...I have to find a new babysitter to watch my 3 year old on the day I work at the 4 year-old's preschool class, but I won't need one till January so I have a while to do it.

Bummer about your birthday too, Carrianne. Like the pp's have said though, just try and have fun with your girls. My DH is always out of town on Mother's Day so I always just spend it with my kids. It can be fun just doing special stuff with them...go out for cupcakes or something. Smile

I feel your pain Jenni...my DS1 was the same way & also colicky & cried & threw up all the time. Eventually we figured out he had a dairy intolerance & then things calmed down a lot. Hope you find something that works for you soon & helps him sleep better.

My MIL is coming tonight so we have to finish cleaning her room. I am planning a huge cleaning frenzy today; we'll see how the little boys tolerate that. Smile My MIL is coming for a whole month to help out. She is pretty helpful with cooking and cleaning and watching the kids, but she can also be really bossy and difficult so we'll see how it goes...

Oh, and congrats on the 4 hours of sleep Melanie! Smile

That is crap on the babysitter situation! Ugh way too prego to deal with that!! DS goes to daycare 3 days a week when I work so while I'm out on maternity we're going to drop him to 2 days a week (mostly to save money but also b/c I will feel guilty sending him when I'm home to some degree) but keep him there. He likes daycare and it will give me 2 days with just the baby and keep him in the set routine. I'm afraid if he has 12 weeks w/o daycare he'll be upset going back and right now he walks right in, looks for his friend Lola and they sit down for breakfast (which is totally adorable).

I've really taken care of most my work stuff. There's always going to be open things but I think the important things are totally covered. I'm super excited about that. I feel good about leaving it in the position it's in. My coverage is.....so-so at best.....so hopefully she can keep things afloat for 12 weeks. As my boss said "you know you'll take on water, let's just hope it doesn't sink" LOL I really do love my job, getting ahead for leave has been incredibly stressful but I kind of enjoy the stress in a sick way Smile I tried staying home and made it about 8 months and it just wasn't me. Working 3 days a week and home 4 is perfect. But I lucked out with an employer that decided they wanted me around enough to give me a work week like that....

My sister is coming home and I want her to meet the babbbbbyyyyyyy LOL INstead she'll just get to see me all gigantic-a-saurus

That sucks about your sister not meeting the baby!

My big brother will be coming home soon - sometime after American Thanksgiving. He was supposed to be here by early November but I'm kind of glad he didn't come already because I would still be fat and pregnant! (My older brother is kind of a hippie/vagabond/traveler. He's spent 7 years in Taiwan, the past year in random places like Egypt, Guam, Ecuador - then he spent a few months in Toronto. Then, he traveled to New York for some poetry conference and ended up staying to be part of the Occupy Wall Street protest. He's been working at the People's Library of OWS for the last month. I think he's a big of a nutcase  but I love him to bits and can't wait until he comes here!!!! He's spending Thanksgiving with a friend and will hopefully find his way up here in the next week or so.)

Sandra - people that can live like that are totally interesting to me! It's totally not something I could ever do love my house and job etc etc but people like your bro always have great stories of travels and experiences that I'll NEVER have lol That's fun to me!

I got a happy birthday on facebook and then he came home and said, I guess I have to plan something for the weekend. No happy birthday in person nor help with acrying baby. I played the drama queen and said no.

Luckily we went to the Muppets and awesome doesn't describe that movie enough!! I smiled ear to ear the whole time! It's all about them putting the original Muppet Show back on the air (my dream!!) Jim Parsons (Sheldon on Big Bang) sings with the Muppets - just that was worth seeing it for! mom gave me a $500 gift certificate for Reitmans and told me to spurge and spend it ALL at once. I'M below pre pregnancy weight and just got rid of literally three quarters of my clothes this week Happy shopping to me tomorrow!!!
