Friday QOTD

I admit, my brain feels like mush so I am stealing October's QOTD!!!

What are your pet peeves? Do you have any pet peeves that are more aggravated by pregnancy hormones?

Oh I know I mentioned this one somewhere at some point, probably on the December board ...

I cannot stand it when people call babies mami/mommy/mamas or papi/daddy/dadas/papas. It irks me like nothing else. I absolutely will not stand for anyone calling my babies by those nicknames.

I hate stupid people! I swear I get asked the freakin' dumbest questions at work (I'm a concierge at a resort)!! I had someone ask me a couple of weeks ago, "So, do you live here in Las Vegas?" ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME? I felt like saying, "No, I take the California shuttle into town every day and then take it back home to San Diego." How can people possibly be this stupid?!?!

LOL!

It really bugs me when people make noise when they drink. For example, my DH chews his drinks. I can hear his teeth chomping together before he swallows! It's SOOOOOO annoying! LOL!

I also have really bad road rage  LOL I don't honk a lot or drive like an idiot, but I like to yell at people a lot! I need to stop since DD keeps asking me why I am yelling! Wink

I am definitely more irritable when pregnant!

Ugh there is a girl at work I'm training to potentially help with some of my responsibilities during my maternity leave (I say potentially b/c she's doing so-so on picking things up....I'm a little scared). She clears her throat, coughs, sniffs and grossly rubs her nose NON STOP and when she's not doing that she scratches -- her head, her arms. I swear it's so gross. I get the heebs with her next to me. She's very nice and even uses hand sanitizer (I think b/c I gave one too many dirty looks when she hacked a hairball next to me) but still UUGGHH drives me nuts.

I get road rage too, Sandra! I actually take a different route to work now because the idiot drivers on my usual road like to drive slow in the left lane!!!! Grrr!!!

But what really gets on my nerves is when people use 'your' instead of 'you're'. I don't go around correcting people but it really annoys me. It has gotten so bad that I see signs outside of businesses using 'your' for 'you are'. Come on people! Contractions are not hard to figure out!

Whining!!!! my tolerance for my children whining is at an all time low!!

Stupid people, rude people, and people who think that because I have baby they can just touch her face, hands and anything they want. Also other peoples children who can't keep their hands to themselves and literally pat my child on the head like they were a dog and not lightly either. I think I have had to tell a little girl 5 times to be gentle and NOT to shove the soother in my childs mouth with her dirty hands!!!

Oh and people who see that I am pregnant and that i have 3 other children and look at me like I have a second head and then tell me I am going to be very busy. GEE you think!!!!

Sorry my list could go on as I was out all day and on a couple buses with very dumb people.

I am with you on the spelling, Jen. I hate it when people misspell words or mispronounce words.

I hear ya on the whining, too, Samantha. My kids' whining irritates me so much these days. Usually they only do it when they are tired or hungry, so I try to be calm & understanding but it drives me nuts!

Sorry to say my DS is one of those kids that are always touching other kids though, especially babies. He loves babies & other kids so much, whenever he sees them he immediately tries to kiss & hug them. I am always trying to tell him that some people don't like to be hugged!

Don't get me wrong I don't mind when other kids come up and play with her or stuff like that, it's when they are too rough and the mother does nothing or I feel like I have to be the bad guy.

Ohh grammar/basic spelling TOTALLY! your, you're, there, their, they're, its, it's.....when to use 's. I get that everyone makes the occasional mix up going fast online etc but everyone has that friend who just doesn't bother and only uses one form....DRIVES ME NUTS! I also have this FB friend who insists on spelling tomorrow tomArrow. And she seems to put it in her FB status ALL.THE.TIME. O it's an O lol I'm a terrible speller by nature but I know that and try to use spell check on everything.

I have this one friend who texts and messages me on facebook but she doesn't spell anything correct. I am pretty sure she does it on purpose as well.

For instance she will shorten literally every word known to man.
are is r
you is u
and is n

and she shortens bigger words by leaving letters out.
Wanted becomes wnted
have is hve
should is shud
thanks is thnx
can't is cnt
good is gud

AND IT IS ALL THE TIME!!! I can't stand texting her. Bothers the crap out of me.
Thats just in the most recent message she sent me on facebook as well. Horrible!

Hahaha glad to see I'm not the only one who is weird about spelling and such! My mom was a 2nd grade teacher when I was growing up and she constantly corrected me...so this has been drilled in for YEARS! I blame it on her Biggrin

Jenni my mom is a remedial reading teacher she was the same way! I have other peevs when people use good when it should be well and bad when it should be badly. Even DH does it, it's much more common (so much more picky on my end) but my mom DRILLED me about not saying "did you sleep good" when grammatically it should be "did you sleep well" Enough years of your mother correcting you any time any place and you start to have a thing about it haha Poor DH I correct him now
