I am growing a BIG Boy...

When we had our ultrasound Monday, the docs and tech estimate him to be 5 lbs :eek::eek::eek: I am only 5 foot tall, and I am much bigger this time around then with DS even though I have gained almost exactly t he same amount of weight. I know the measurements can be off, but I have had a feeling this kid is big for some time now! His movements are also becoming very painful, which did not happen with DS until the last month. Ds weighed 7lbs4oz and was 21.75" tall.
Not sure what to think of this. We go back in 2 weeks for an appt and 4 weeks for another ultrasound. Doc said weight gain is ok, not excessive for me and fluid levels were ok.

Wow, so they are projecting he'll be approximately 9 lbs on his due date? That is a lot bigger than his brother!

Glad everything else is going so well!

Well, way to grow!!! Biggrin

They can be really off on estimates. I had a friend who had an U/S at 38 weeks and they told her her boy was already 8 lbs, and would be at least 9 lbs at birth. When he was born a few days after her due date, he was 7 lbs 6 oz

Don't freak out too much! Even if he is bigger than DS, your body can handle it! My DD was only 7 lbs 8 oz, and DS was a whopping 9 lbs 7 oz - 2 full pounds bigger! But he came out even quicker than DD! I know there are circumstances where baby is simply too big to come out vaginally, but I think most often the case is that your body will not make a baby that will not fit! Your body is capable of amazing things!

I agree that weight estimates can be off, often times by a lot! I'm just jealous that you get U/S in these last months! The only one my OB does is the anatomy scan at 20 weeks (unless there's some problem). If I want another U/S I have to pay for one of the 3D/elective ones! I hope he's not too big to push out lol! My middle baby was 8lbs, 7oz... nothing to it!

Doc has not given any estimate yet, I got back 10/3. Another ultrasound for his kidneys/dilated renal pelvis on 10/18. I just know 5 lbs is big for 32 weeks!!! Hope he isn;t too big. We'll see... I have a co worker whose first was 7.5 lbs and her 2nd, a girl was 9 lbs 12 oz!!!

Welcome to the world of big babies Smile I too am hoping I don't pop out a 10 pounder...although at least if I do it will be a c-section. Glad all is well...looking forward to hearing the results of the u/s.

They are probably way off in their estimates, so try not to give it much thought. Glad all is healthy! I agree 5+3.5 is still not huge for a boy. You totally got this! Biggrin
