Need some support

So I cant talk to about this to ANYONE, so please no facebook comments!

For the last month Ive been having a strong ache , borderline pain in my right breast on the underneath part. I thought this had something to do with breastfeeding but it got worse and worse. I am having a hard time sleeping because any pressure is really uncomfortable. So I finally went to the doctor and she didnt feel anything but it really hurt when she was donig the exam. Due to the pain, she was worried so she told me they would phone me with an appointment for a mammography. The nurse phoned me and told me that there wasnt any availabiltiy for three months (wonderful health care system we have here) but that the dr. wrote that it had to be done STAT, and that they would call me next week. So now I am all worried. My mom has had breast cancer four times and nothing is ever STAT in this province when it comes to healthcare. I dont want to share with anyone in real life because I dont want them to be worried about it. Anyways thank you for listening. Its a waiting game.

Oh my, I'm not sure what to stay except not to worry, as it could be nothing. Maybe you have a clogged duct? Are you BF? Hopefully they can get you an appt soon and ease your worry a little bit. It is a good sign that they didn't feel a lump though. Please KUP! Sending T&P your way!

Sorry to hear this. It doesn't really sound like your Doctor was all that helpful. Hopefully you get the appointment soon. My first guess would be a blocked duct way back in there? Whether you're still nursing or weaned that can happen... If you like garlic it couldn't hurt to have a raw clove each day (press it & stir into your dinner?) and make sure you're well hydrated while you wait for that appointment. Stupid medical.

Sorry to hear that, I hope you can get in quickly.

I really hope that it is nothing too serious. Keep us posted.

I'm sorry, Carrianne. I'm sorry that you're dealing with the extra stress -I'm wishing you peace during this tough time.

I don't want to minimize your experience, because I'm sure its really difficult - but I had a similar experience when I was studying abroad in rural Ukraine. A hard painful lump. I couldn't get it examined there, so I had to wait until I returned to the US. Turned out it was just a weird fibrous lump - went away as soon as I was less stressed and started eating a little healthier. I'm hoping you are just experiencing the same!

KUP!

I am hoping it is something simple like what the others have mentioned, try massaging it.

PS this is whyI hate to hear Americans say that Canadians and Europeans have such great health care. It is just different. I hope they are able to squeeze you in soon to put your mind at rest. Is there anyway you can get an u/s? Or any other exams in the mean time?

Glad you got the appointment! I guess a week and a half is not that long, but will also probably feel like forever. I had a cyst as a teen, it hurt like mad & after taking a soccerball to the BB it actually leaked green fluid out of a pore!!! Scared me to death & the Dr didn't believe me... he prescribed water pills and all was fine after that. Our bodies can do strange things
