Nesting

Im just wondering if I am the only one already starting to nest. Mind you, I could be a candidate for Hoarders, so I have a lot more to do than most of you probably do Smile We are gong to finish our basement sometime soon (if I could just get my dh to move his you know what and hire a contractor), so everything in my junk / craft room has to be condensed down to one closet in the basement (the rest will be a family room and a music studio, bathroom and storage for other stuff). The old room will of course become the new nursery!

So far I have thrown out eight garbage bags full of stuff and have spent four hours sorting and purging, and probably have another four or five hours to go, not to mention cleaning out the filing cabinet

Ive also started to clean other areas of the house but this is going to take a month or so to complete. I started pretty early with my first pregnancy as well, but Im wondering if I am the only one?

Oh my goodness! I really LOVE my SO and I'm certain he is going to be the world's best Dad once the baby finally comes. However...he has this idea we can put off preparations until "late October." um, NO. What a first time Dad.

We *need* to take a road trip to Northwestern Washington state to collect a load of things from my sister who had a boy about 2 years ago. I'd like to do this as soon as possible so I can evaluate what still needs to be purchased and then create a registry. Logical, right? Even if I have to finally bite the bullet and purchase a second vehicle for our little family, I refuse to put this off until September.

So, even though we're in this weird state of purgatory where I'm too cheap to purchase anything in fear that my sister has a duplicate item waiting for us a state away... I'd love to be nesting. I'm keeping our kitchen really clean if that counts, haha.

Is that in Bellingham? I used to live in Vancouver and loved going cross border shopping there. If my dh had anything to do with things my almost three year old would be sleeping on the floor because he wNted to put off doing the nursery so long!

you are not the only one!!! LOL Ever since we have had our 12 week u/s I have been planning and slowly working on things! I would get more accomplished on my days off by DS is not too much help Smile So far we have painted DS new room, picked up his new dresser and night stand and gotten him to sleep in there. This weekend we will rent a truck and take the antique furniture that was in there to my parents house to store. Next on the list is landscaping in the back yard (DHs job Smile ) 4 yrs ago we built a huge paver patio and he has one section, a path, to finish. That will make him clean up the extra supplies our there that have been driving me crazy!!!! He also has to stain our shed. My job will be organizing the stuff from Ds new room that needs a "home". I am sure there is more that I have forgotten!!

I've got to get nursery walls painted, then carpet shampooed, then will start decorating. I will wash all of his clothes and organize them closer to his due date. Thinking about painting makes me tired so I keep putting it off! We're having the grandparents come over for a paint the nursery party to get it knocked out in a couple of hours. We're feeding them dinner in exchange for labor! Smile

I am kind of waiting to find out the sex before I start making nursery plans. Our place has 3 bedrooms, and right now my two boys share a room, I have the master bedroom and DH (who snores terribly) is in the third bedroom. If we have another boy we might be able to put him in with his brothers but it will be crowded.

We will probably end up having to move eventually, but Tiernan slept in my room till he was almost 2 so I guess that's what we will end up doing this time as well.

Nesting...Yes, Yes, Yes! I've already deep cleaned the kitchen (well, my two older boys helped temendously!) Cleaning out cabinets, throwing away old pots and gadgets not being used. Breaking down the stove, oven, microwave, fridge. It's like I have a brand new kitchen!

Next, is the family room, closets, my room (baby will be will room with me and DH for the first 3 or 4 months.

So much to do!

i need to start nesting! my house is a disaster!!

i can't remember who just posted that they will wash all the baby clothes. PLEASE DONT DO THAT! just wash a few outfits. seriously. i washed every single thing that i received at my baby shower. ripped off the tags, washed everything and folded it all. but the baby won't wear half the stuff you get! don't take the tags off until you know you'll put the baby in that! because you can regift or take back stuff, get store credit and BUY DIAPERS with all the stuff that the baby won't wear!

if i had just waited to see what thomas would actually wear i would have saved so much money!

Lol I did this the first week I found out I was pregnant... then got so completely tired for the next month or so that I didn't want to do ANYTHING! I've finally gotten a little energy back but have only started doing little things, like cleaning out the kitchen cabinets and my closet. We have to move DH's "mancave" crap into our room to make that room the new nursery, as our house is officially out of rooms... but I don't even want to think about that! It definitely hits me when I'm about 35-36 weeks hardcore... you'll see lol!
