New on the board

Hello all, I'm new to the board, I've luked some but never really post. My due date was dec. 9th but i had my son on nov. 25th via csection due to my seizure condition. I hope y'all don't mind me joining in so late.

For some reason I can't put a picture on here using my iPad but here is birth story:

On nov.22nd I had a dr.s appointment and I told my dr. That I have had a headache for a few days and I was just to feeling good, like how I feel when I'm about to get a seizure. He told me well maybe your going into labor and he checked me, cervix was closed. So he told me it was just the end of pregnancy and he hopes I feel better. To call my neurologist to get her opinion. So I went home and just that she said to increase my medication at night, so the next morning I wake up with the same headache, shortness of breath and I couldn't really feel the baby move. So I allied my neurologist, she said it has nothing to with the meds, to call my ob. My ob says to come into l&d, as soon as I get to l&d I start to seize over and over. So the keep me overnight. On Thursday the same thing happens I start to seize for 10-20 mins. So the dr.s decide that they are going to deliver on friday. Friday morning comes, we walk to the OR and I get the spinal and lay down and all I remember is saying I don't feel good and they say I go into another seizure and they put me under and deliver the baby, everything happened within 15 minutes. Gianni was born at 10:43 am Nov.25th. Then the next thing I remember I woke up in IMU. I didn't get to see Gianni until over 24 hours later. I was an emotional wreck!it was horrible. So when I finally got released to postpartum and got to see my baby a few hours later they had to take him to the NICU because he wasn't eating. While he was in the NICU they did an u/s on his head they found a cyst on his brain and extra fluid, so they did a ct scan. Thankfully everything came back normal! He started thriving and was able to be discharged the same day I was. I was in the hospital for a week and I'm so glad we are home!

Sorry it was so long! I tried to shorten it as much as possible!

Hello and welcome to our group! It sounds like your baby had a very dramatic entrance to the world. How are you both doing now? We'd love to see pics when you get it figured out. I look forward to getting to know you. We've got a pretty awesome group of women here!

We are doing great! I just wish he knew the difference from night and day. The nights are pretty rough still. Thanks for asking, it has been a pretty rough past week and half but I figured getting back on this board could really help. It helped me a lot with my other two boys. I look forward to getting to know all of y'all as well!

Hi Aimee I did type out a reply yesterday but then the site went a little haywire and it didn`t stick. Sounds like you have been through so much, I am glad Gianni`s CT scan came back clear. It must feel good to finally be all home, what an ordeal. I hope your nights get better soon too! What was his birthweight?

This is our problem right now too...as I type this it is 3am here. My baby sleeps great during the day and then wants to stay up all night. I've read so much conflicting information on infant sleep that I'm confused on how to correct this problem. Leaving him in his bed to cry it out is not an option. So frustrating!

His birth weight was 7 lbs 1 oz my biggest! And he was 21 inches long! When we left he was up to 6 lbs 11ozs they would keep track of it on the wall in the NICU.

I have found that at night, he just wants to be held, so if I have to sleep in the recliner for a few hours of sleep, I'm ok with that. I don't believe in letting them cry it out this young either. They don't know how to soothe themselves yet. That's what we are for.
