Oh my goodness, I was so frightened for you!!!!!! I'm glad everything is okay!

And congratulations on joining team pink! :sleepygirl:

I'm sorry about not finding the heartbeat at the routine appointment, that must have been scary and crummy. One of my junior midwives had a hard time finding my little guy's hb at one point- she said it was because of the anterior placenta. Do you know if that is the case with you?

Hey Jenni, do you know offhand the current tally of team pink vs. team blue? It seems like the girls are sloooowly catching up, but we're still blue-heavy.

It was the worst hour if my life! I honestly do t ever remember feeling so scared. My family lives on the other side of the country and my husband is away so o was allcalone. I don't know how I drove myself to the hospital but I did. The secretary asked me why I wAs there and I said no heartbeat. She asked how far sling I was and when I said 19 weeks she said oh boy and gave me this pitiful look. I got in about five minutes later which is a miracle in this province. I saw in two seconds all was well, and it was confirmed that not only do I have an anterior placenta coupled with a nice layer of fat, the Doppler just doesn't cut it. I asked if he could check for the gender and he did, and I saw my beautiful girl. That I've been hoping for. He was so nice and checked some other measurements just in case and it all looks ok at a quick glance, ill still go back in two weeks fir my scheduled anatomy scan Smile I called my husband and he is thrilled we are having a girl too!

Her name is Émilie Olivia Smile

Geez how scary! I am sorry you had to go through this, especially all alone. None of my doctors here have ever done a doppler, maybe this is part of the reason? Dumb dopplers!

Thanks Smile we chose it because Émilie is a nice standard English and French name! We don't want anyone to have trouble pronouncing it in either language! (and French will be her predominant one)
