PUPPS

So I'm thinking I may be experiencing the wrath up PUPPS! I've text my mw and she is unable to see me til tomorrow afternoon, so she suggested going into the pharmacy and seeing if they have any creams that will help with the itching.

It started last week and I thought it was just a reaction to something I had eaten or touched, but it hasn't gotten any better, in fact it has got worse, I have uploaded a couple of pics of my legs and my arm. It's actually quite hard to see the rash in the first pic, but it looks something like razor burn - the bumps are all raised like hives.

Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry! That is terrible - I hope your midwife prescribes something effective and you are able to find some relief in the meantime!

Thats no fun at all! I hope they can give you something.

Maybe soak in the tub or put a cool wash cloth on the itchy parts and see if that helps....

It sure looks like that is what it could be. How odd though...I thought that women who were pregnant with boys were most at risk for PUPPS. I hope you get some relief! KUP!

I saw my doctor this morning, but she couldn't be sure what type of rash it was. Typical. I now have a HUGE bottle of Calamine lotion to smear over myself whenever i start itching and anti-histamine tablets to take twice daily.
Luckily she told me the antihistamine tablets would make me drowsy because I had a uni presentation this afternoon and I was already so tired, didn't need to be falling asleep. Hopefully using both of these I can get some relief and feel like my normal self.

LURKING

Nicole - I normally wouldn't post these b/c I hate my bare belly, but I wanted to show you what my PUPPS looked like in my last pregnancy (click to make larger)

This time I had it all over my belly, legs and feet. I was miserable both times and it took an oral steroid for me to get it resolved. I'm not sure your MW would even prescribe that though since my OB said that steroids in pg are still controversial.

I hope you get some relief soon...I know how miserable it is. Nothing OTC or homemade worked for me.

Hey I was thinking...have you looked into one of those amber necklaces that people put on their babies for rashes, etc? I think it is amber, anyway. I've heard a lot of good things about them and the babysteals.com mamas go nuts for them when they are featured and they sell out so fast. You could maybe get one and wear it around your ankle or something.
