How many kids do you want to have in total?
Two from my uterus is more than enough! That's probably it for us, but if we win the lottery then these two plus as many as we can afford to foster and/or adopt.
DH and I plan on 4. We'll probably have our last in 2013 or 2014. I'll be done before I'm 30! (and an empty nester by 50. How COOL is that?)
Two! My dh is getting fixed asap
I think we'll probably have one more for three total. But I do want to see how life settles in to two. DH and I both work outside the home (I work part time but I put in a lot of time at home too) and I want to make sure we both feel we have time to give to kids and work. I volunteer extensively with dog rescue and don't want to lose that part of my life either. So if once we have 2 we really feel we can balance a 3rd and all the other things in our life then I think we'll go for it. I was kind of hoping maybe #3 would come as Evan heads to kindergarten too so we can balance the daycare expense a little better but I don't want them too spread out either
I wanted 5, but I married late and poor! LOL!!! I think we will stick with two!
not sure yet?
we used to say one. now we are having two. time will tell But this 2nd pregnancy is much harder on my body mentally and physically.
That is so awesome that you volunteer in a rescue! I have a HUGE soft spot for animals. One of my dogs is a shelter dog and the day I adopted him on his 'last day' at the shelter! I use to bring home stray animals all the time when I was little and wish I had the space to keep adopting. I just love animals and up upsets me to see them mistreated.
Asha you should keep em coming! You are a great mom and make such cute babies!
As for me...we'll have one more in hopes of a girl but if we get another boy I might try one more time but that is it.
Three... so being that this is my fourth and I have two stepsons (I think that puts me at six if I did my math correctly lol) I think I'm done...
3 is good. Twins run in my dh's family (his generation has a set of identical twins) and his father's younger siblings are twins. No twins in my family. No one of my DH's siblings or us has gotten hit with the twin thing...YET.
That being said, if 3 turns into 4 because of twins, that would be okay with me. I love kids. And DH has a good secure job.
I will probably want to hold off getting pregnant till this one is at 2 or just a little over 2. That would put DS at almost 5 when that one would be born.
We could share another BB Anne I was thinking Evan right around 5/kindergarten time would be good.
Katie and Anne, that would be CRAZY if you ladies shared three BBs!
I'm not sure. Probably between 0 and 2 more.
Maybe this belongs on the stupid question thread lol but aren't twins only genetic on mom's side and only fraternal? I thought the only genetic part about twins was a woman's propensity to ovulate with 2 eggs creating fraternal twins. Identical twins are spontaneous and not genetically linked and men always give a lot of sperm LOL Just curious if anyone knows.....I suppose I could google it
We will be done after this LO...I am getting my tubes tied after my c-section. If things would have been different and maybe I was a little different maybe I would have wanted more but I am thrilled that we are having another and all is going well...I will say thank you very much and move on.
I originally thought that twins only ran on moms side but my neighbours had identical twins a couple months ago and the dad is an identical twin and they told me that they are now some indications that it can come down from dads side...so who knows,
We are complete with this baby, and SO very blessed to be having a boy. It has been a tough 4-ish years wanting this babe to come along. I'm 38 and DH is 42, DH's eldest is 16 & 1/2, our daughter is 5 & 1/2. DH is already freaking out about 'how old' we are when this one is done school, lol. The path to this pregnancy was hard enough for me, we had one miscarriage last November early at 9 wks but to me it was devastating. There are so many strong women out there who have been through so much worse, but the roller-coaster is not for me. So, after all the TTC, the miracle of thankfully dodging IVF, a loss, and now to finally be having our little boy - I am over the moon and couldn't ask for more! It is truly amazing how life turns out.
I like the idea of having 2 kiddos. If we decide to have another child after this LO it won't be until DS is in school.
